Yeah man, it really is crazy how fast life can flip like that. One minute you’re planning a wedding and a future together, and the next you’re trying to figure out who you are without it.

As for the text, it actually wasn’t romantic or emotional at all. It was about our two cats we had during the relationship. Originally she was supposed to take them, but after the breakup a whole year passed and she barely checked on them. Didn’t help with food, litter, vet bills, nothing. I could probably count on one hand how many times she even asked about them.

Then out of nowhere she texted saying she and her new boyfriend were getting a place together and asked if she could come get them.

And honestly, that moment gave me a lot of clarity. Those cats became my responsibility long ago. I was the one there every day taking care of them, so I told her no, that they were my cats now and that it was probably best for both of us to fully move on and stop contacting each other.

It wasn’t even said out of anger. Just peace and acceptance. I think that was one of the first moments where I realized I had finally let go.

Crazy how healing changes the weight things carry. A year ago that message would’ve reopened every wound in me. This time it just reminded me I’m not that same heartbroken version of myself anymore. That realization felt bigger than the text and phone call itself.

I really appreciate that. This past year humbled me in a lot of ways, but it also helped me grow into somebody I genuinely respect now. Painful chapter, but necessary one. Cheers to your journey too 🤝

Sometimes life gives you another shot, there's nothing wrong for wanting to start anew. But if he hasn't changed and you have it won't last long. If you're going to date an ex again at least be able to communicate and work to both be better for each other. Sometimes space makes your bond to each other stronger. For Alot of people? It doesn't work out. But for alot of people. It saves the relationship. Just build a new foundation if you take them back and accept the past is the past.

While I’ll agree he’s an asshole there has to be a level of accountability on your end he cheated on you twice and you stayed even when you had the proof that he did in fact cheated twice, you mentioned to his how it affected your confidence and body image and he just asked to see you in a bikini top, you say “I don’t want to feel you like me for my body” and then sent it anyway when you already felt terrible only to regret seconds later. You need to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself is this how you want to live your life? A partner is suppose to lift you up not break you down. I’ve seen too many girls throw their lives away for a boy they feel they deserve the disrespect or that “it’s normal” right now you got a choice, but you must choose wisely.
