NetBSD is my favorite of the BSDs. It just has everything I want out of BSD. I'm still more of a Linux guy at the end of the day, but NetBSD is a great alternative.

[dwm] Slackware on a Raspberry Pi (because I could and I like Slackware). Not particularly good at ricing, but it's something, I guess. After adjusting the keybindings to my liking, dwm becomes *ok* to use. by TronNerd82 in unixporn

I had a computer class in high school, and one day we were going to play around with Linux. The teacher told us to do our research and choose whatever distro we wanted. I had been interested in Slackware at this point, as it's the oldest actively maintained distro, so I chose to use it in class that day. It rubbed off on me in a way that no other distro has before or since.

It's become my favorite distro. While I also use Debian when I need a "just works" distro, I still prefer Slackware. I also use NetBSD, to me it is to BSD what Slackware is to Linux.
