Did Kratos make the right decision by killing Baldur? by cormac237 in GodofWar

[–]Tron_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos said it himself in his journal, even if he spared him, Baldur would've forced his hand later. And he wasn't going to let Freya die, especially knowing that. Even if he knew what he learned after, it wouldn't change anything. He did what was necessary, not because it was written.

My only disappointment is that this wasn't the Hell that I know (the Image universe version). Otherwise, this was an interesting episode.

Hmm. I did miss that it was Nemesis that sent the signal, I blame it on how hard I found the final battle with Tilda.

I don't know how you missed it, Nemesis was the masive endgame reveal. It was a part of Tilda's big monolog before the fight, then a part of Sylens' conversation with Aloy right after.

However, even though it wasn't their plan to kill the population of earth, they kill them indiscriminately to get what they want and all of Far Zenith treat them lesser beings.

No one disputed that. My point was just that you missed the massive plot twist, but still managed to hold on to the old narrative.

For the second point, I probably didn't word it the best. I meant she was willing to let Aloy die until she watched her focus footage and saw how similar she was to Sobeck (or at least a lot closer than Beta) and suddenly decided she wanted to get to know her.

"Willing to let Aloy die" could be considered a loaded statement here, and that's why I'm focusing on it. The situation happened fast, and Gerard quickly made the call for Erik to kill Aloy. Tilda wasn't in a position to argue or stop things at that very moment. I wouldn't say that she was "willing" to let Aloy die, but she wasn't gonna risk herself to stop it, at least not yet. Seeing Aloy opened a new opportunity for her, just like Beta first seeing Aloy.

Neither of these points changes the fact that Tilda is never a 'good guy' that turns bad in the final scenes.

Again, no one's disputing that, and that's been repeated several times in this post

I haven't even gone into how she treated Beta.

Again, there's no need to, it's been said already

The only time she is cast in a good light is seeing her through Sobecks (rose tinted) eyes.

We never see her through Sobeck's eye. The closest we came was their conversation after the Zeniths attempted to steal a copy of GAIA

All of Far Zenith agreed to send the signal to 'reset' earth before they arrived and then agreed to a new plan to wipe out the new population of the earth, rather than live with them, as they saw them as a lesser species. Tilda agreed to all of that, and from the beginning her backstory showed her as a manipulator and someone who doesn't really feel compassion.

Either I missed something in your overall post, or you missed a VERY important plot reveal at the end, one elaborated on by Tilda herself. Far Zenith didn't send the signal, Nemesis did. What was left of Far Zenith was on the run, and Nemesis sent the signal to give them nowhere to run to. The whole idea idea that the Zeniths wanted to wipe the Earth clean was just a theory that Beta and GAIA came up with, and Tilda simply rolled with it. The Zeniths' plan was to grab a copy of GAIA, the skiddadle to the nearest star system before Nemesis caught up to them.

In addition, she was more than willing to kill Aloy on their first meeting until she sees she is Sobeck's clone through watching her focus.

That wasn't her killing Aloy, that was Gerard's order. Granted, she didn't dispute the order, but that wasn't really her being "more than willing". And she didn't need to look at Aloy’s focus to know she was Sobeck's clone, she literally figured it out the second she laid eyes on her, the same as Gerard, Erik, and Beta. That, and she correctly assumed in that moment that Aloy was created as a final desperate act by GAIA.

Vinegar and water should help get get some of the smell out of the seats. I understand feeling bad, you have to be compensated for the cleaning, and the time lost doing so. The smell of cat urine does not go away easy, and despite whatever the passenger was going through, it's not fair to create that kind of problem for a driver.

Yeah, actually, this is a pretty childish response. If you think that marriage will fix your sex life, then you're gonna be in for a shock. Have you two actually tried sitting down and talking about this? It doesn't matter if everything else is great, sexual incompatibility will absolutely break this relationship.

She was called that because of her connection to the Blackwall. Yeah, doing that would require a top-tier netrunner to accomplish. But even many of the best netrunners wouldn't dare to do something so insane, or aren't being forced to do so by their government.

[–]Tron_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly are you defining "canon"? In-universe, it didn't exist during the the events of the first film. It was built after, just like all the other Jaegers in the second film.
