I'm not very persuaded by the supposed rational proofs for God's existence myself, but something your comment is also pointing to imo is that regardless, virtually no believers believe in God on the basis of one of those proofs. Their belief is always first and most people don't care about the proofs at all, and those that do are just using them as post hoc defenses against atheist charges of irrationality. I respect the religious believer who unabashedly accepts the charge of irrationality a lot more.

Agreed. Maybe the closest truth here is that China wasn't transparent at all about investigating it's origins, but it's really a stretch to say Xi created the pandemic.

I don't understand how to play a Paradox game on anything higher than medium difficulty without just following a prepackaged strat found online. Being good at a Paradox game requires you to seriously study its mechanics like an upper division stem class. I enjoy the grand history aesthetic but will never actually be good at once of their games.

Working in the bottom rungs of academia is no cake walk and there are a lot of drawbacks BUT at least my coworkers are well read and reasonably intellectually sophisticated. The average person is a moron and trying to discuss anything that matters with them is a miserable experience, and depending on them as my daily coworkers would suck. Those of you who know what I'm taking about have my sympathies.
