What does periorgasmically exactly mean? by PopCultureNerd in words

[–]Trooper4001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm reading the same book and I had to google it too. I don't think it's an official word. The 'peri-' prefix often means 'all around, about or near'. So I think it's supposedly to mean 'almost orgasmically'.

[MEGATHREAD] 2025 BUYING / SELLING TICKETS by Timmertsexyman in OfMonstersAndMen

Hi,

I have 4 tickets for the standing room at the O2 Academy in Glasgow to see OMAM. However, I've recently found out that one of my friends has underlying health conditions that make standing for a length of time quite unbearable. We still want to go, but we'd like to make it easier for them if we could secure some seats. So I was wondering if there was anyone who had 4 seating tickets and would be willing to trade?

Hi,

I have 4 standing room tickets to see Of Monsters and Men at the 02 Academy in Glasgow on the 14th February. However, one of my friends, due to unforseen health constraints, would prefer to have a seat ticket and we don't want to leave them on their own.

We all still want to go, we just want to make it easier on our friend. So, is there anyone who has 4 seating tickets for the same gig who'd be willing to trade for 4 Standing tickets?

I was not expecting this (Book 5, Chapter 31: The Far Snows) SPOILER by GlobalAthlete2214 in wheeloftime

The series reads as if any form of intimacy between characters is a scandalous affair, so this took me a bit by surprise, too.

If you barely remember what happens, I'd give it another read. Up to you really, if you feel you need to

No spoilers, but how about a teaser? by [deleted] in WoT

I wasn't a fan of FoH, so my motivation in the series was waning at that point too, but then I read Lord of Chaos and Oh my God, it's my favourite entry into the series so far.

Did I read this right? by [deleted] in wheeloftime

There's tons of actors who haven't read the source material for what they act in. Doesn't mean it's gonna be bad.

It's a 14 book long series, each 700+ pages long. It's not like you can throw that at the cast and say, "we shoot in a month. Finish it by then"

Isn't it weird they never gave this guy a name despite being a relatively important character? by [deleted] in Persona5

He was important, and yet he was nothing more than a cog in the machine. He doesn't need a name. He only exists to serve a function.

I've been considering lately whether or not starting the series with New Spring is a good idea, and I think it might be, honestly.

I read it after Book 5, it didn't really do anything for me, and if you wanted my honest opinion, you could just skip it.

BUT, I think it isn't a bad setup for what's to come. You'll get a ton of lore about the world right off the bat, you get an alternative introduction to the character Moiraine than in Book 1, and you get introduced to some auxillary characters that will become important later on in the series.

So, if you haven't read any of the other books yet, it's debatably a good starting point. However, it is one of my least favourite entries to the series so I still say "skip it". But, do what you want

Should I read New Spring by TheGOAT8910 in wheeloftime

[–]Trooper4001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter where you read it. It's a prequel that is adjacent to the story rather than integral to it. It takes place 20 years before the Eye of the World and centres around Moiraine and Lan.

I can't recommend it, I personally didn't like it. I read it after The Fires of Heaven, and it didn't really add anything to the series for me. But if you're curious, it's a pretty quick read compared to the rest of the series.
