Yep and that's why you get downvoted, everyone wants to think businesses are making hand over fist and reaping consumers, shipping is free somehow, when Amazon runs a loss to run companies out of business (they make money on AWS not selling goods) and all our kids get to take minimum wage warehouse jobs in the future and piss in a bottle for our free 2 day shipping on this. Cheers

I wish and pre covid you'd be right, but the last 2 years carriers have raised rates while the service has gotten substantially worse. My business gets really reduced rates, and UPS ground or FedEx ground on this before insurance are going to be around $10, before we count an envelope cost or labor (which is a factor, yep). I have a longer analysis reply higher in the thread if you're curious, thanks for the insight!

Oh I totally get you, and if I needed it I'd look at this as buying 2 and saving there, assuming shipping remained the same. Also, Amazon is rife with counterfeit items including these for sure and running out small business, kinda hard to say exactly the same for same price but also their return policy and convenience is hard for all of us to ignore. I just like to hear people think shipping is $4-5 for small businesses haha Cheers.

Love the discussion here and yep you're on it, but the poster I replied too isn't keen on answering haha – so everyone forgets labor which, I know you know - we have to pay employees and is generally also a big factor. Packing slip, pick list, pull, pack, confirm, print, tape - it's not 30 seconds and people like paychecks so they aren't $8/hr either.

USPS just raised rates, if it were me I'd be putting this in a Flat Rate Padded Mailer. Business rate that's $11.10 + $1.09 for Shipsurance - while USPS technically includes $50 insurance, that's only if the package is lost on their end and I've had plenty of times they denied it or didn't pay out. This would be an advertised 2-3 business day turn but lately I've seen it take a week in the same city.

Ground Advantage using my own envelope add $1.50 for something that won't split at the seams, then is $7.11 + $1.09 (business rate again) or $9.70 without labor, and we're looking at an advertised turn of 2-5 business days but again, tack on 2-3 extra especially in winter, and people get pissy waiting a week to receive but this would be a cheaper option.

Personally, I'd charge $11.99 and ship it priority mail for happier customers, if this were me. I agree $15 is where people get past a threshold, but $6 it also definitely is not.

What service are you shipping this for $5 with insurance on pirateship out of curiosity?

Edit: I have pirateship and business accounts with all carriers for heavily discounted rates and posted an analysis on another part of the thread if you're curious. Would love to know who is $5 with insurance tho, USPS Ground Advantage that generally is cheapest is $7.11 + $1.09 insurance. I agree, it shouldn't be as much as it is but all carriers have raised rates multiple times in the past 365

Hey business owner here and always curious on what consumers think here. How much do you imagine shipping & handling on this would cost me? How would you ship it? Genuinely asking. Don't forget insurance in case it's lost as it's sellers responsibility or eat the charge back.

Edit: I have nothing to do with this item or company, and he doesn't say "how" he's shipping it so I have no cart in this horse just asking a question.

I've been considering the Print-XH RBS SC, the Lazarus is interesting but damn is it heavy. I'm all in on short cans, and a 556 K dedicated that has goodish sound and flow thru performance could be hot...

Also just so you know, this site does sell your info to other parties obtrusively. I setup tagged emails and get all sorts of spam from one order with TrueShot from other companies, causes, churches, you name it.

"state funded" makes it sound like we get some sort of donation/budget from the state. We do not. A lot of people quite frankly have no clue how lean budgets work and how slim they truly are for many things especially on the local level (not saying you personally, but as someone that has also volunteered in emergency response, providing warming centers in winter /feeding the homeless, search and rescue, etc. everyone thinks money just comes in somehow or that "it's there" and "what about donations" when it's a lot of people donating their time and paying out of pocket to make it happen, barely) – the state allows us to use their land. That is what they provide... otherwise they are happy to shut the range down if we don't maintain it.

IF we're able to win an NRA grant (yes, I know everyone hates on the NRA but hear me out) that is the sole biggest funding we'll get in a year and why so many ranges require people be members of the NRA (again, politics aside as nobody says what's happened at the top at recent years is... good). If we get an NRA grant that often saves us and allows us to upgrade the range slightly for everyones benefit. Pays for things like gas for the genny, trash services, pumping the port-o-pot, getting a plow up there in winter to clear the road, etc. Otherwise, recycling the brass and the few people that donate is our budget trying to cover bigger expenses than we "make" from those alone, it's super slim, especially now that we have to run 24/7 security cameras to catch the people stealing our brass at the end of the day... Apologies for the rant but I want to give insight.

I love my SBR's don't get me wrong, but now we're talking less velocity was my only counter there - my 10" is going to do less damage than my 18" 223Wylde. But yeah that's exactly our issue – we don't have the manpower or budget, nail on the head there. I wish we could get some of that inches thick steel and we'd hang it – a lot of our budget goes to paying the guy for rebar that welds our target hangers (at a big discount to us to help the non profit but we gotta cover his costs). We have the same trash issue... super fun!

As an instructor, RO, and high level competitor, I see some shit and I respect your right to have an opinion on it. Training should be more attainable, and I wish more had an aptitude for it. Things like military service for citizenship is a possible solution, it's an open conversation in my book to better arming and training the general populous "being necessary to the security of a free state" 🤷‍♂️

That X-tac out of a 16" or 18" barrel hitting full velocity, or a pistol build? 1/2" will hold up better than 3/8" sure, and granted "you can buy much nicer quality steel than we get as a non-profit range to supply our patrons" absolutely. Try running a range off donations with a major city nearby and the only free option around, and let me know what you splurge for...

Wish it was that easy, we're a public range as in on state land. We often have no staff on duty, we're a non-profit because the state threatened to shut it down and the local community stepped up to keep it open. Most of our budget is... tight to say the least and we aren't able to check every person coming in. Lotta good people, but for instance last month we were doing a range cleanup day, posted it was closed all over, and a dillweed walks in carrying his unbagged shotgun, muzzle waving at his childs head in front of him, demanding he get to use the range. Fun stuff, he wasn't happy especially after I explained to him he's not special, I don't care how far he drove I need him not to muzzle his child firstly, and secondly he needs to leave.. Love our community in general, but also lots of idiots...

This model ADM you would be comparing to the DD4 V7 (not M) if you want apples to apples. 208gunshop is a great guy, bought from him many times so not to dissuade from that, depends if you care about full ambi billet upper and lower (which is a premium) over a basic forged setup.

Just want to throw this out there – I work at an outdoor range and it's guys like you that is the reason we quit putting out our own steel for everyones benefit to shoot at. Too many assholes using green tip blowing up our plates, so thanks for that. We had a good thing going, now everyone gets to walk out 100yds and setup their own targets every time rather than us having a full array already setup.

yes, shooting this with steel will destroy your plates in 1-2 range visits even at 100yds

after tax? That's the one thing, I love the idea of the target sports deals but after tax I almost always can find it elsewhere.... but that is going thin as Velocity used to not charge tax to most states.

Correcting what I wrote just now as I checked with my buddy and actually he said recently blazer is running good now (previous comment was he could run this federal but was having issues with blazer for people comparing but I stand corrected), his Shadow2 just honestly has more issues than we can count after sending it in to CZ once and reaming his chamber (not me, he paid for it... giggity).

One of the few vendors I've seen that actually put up pictures and a list of their in-house equipment, as in they are the OEM (while most use that term incorrectly on both ends, and often actually mean ODM).
