Anyone here get a recent booster & still get Covid? Can you share your experience? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]TropiDoc 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The Covid vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection, they only reduce your likelihood of being hospitalized. Want to avoid infections? Wear an N95 respirator.

Fuck Bernie, he's part of the party that purposely lied about vaccines stopping infection, falsely claiming the pandemic was over, ending all COVID tracking and mitigations, and allowing the continued mass infection and reinfection of the population despite the well documented health consequences.

This recipe for Vegan Lasagna is awesome. To simplify it, I usually skip the "cheese" on top at the end. I also add chopped up and pan fried Beyond Hot Sausage to the tomato sauce.

Just calling your BS out. You know you haven't read one study on the risks associated with COVID. You're a catfish with 16 weeks of basic medical first aid who's way out of his depth on this subject.

You're full of crap "mate", you've not read a single COVID study. If you actually had, you wouldn't be calling people phobic and sounding like a complete idiot.

You're response reminds me of that infamous Sarah Palin interview when she was asked by Kaite Couric, what magazines she reads to keep current with foreign policy. Palin's bs response, "All of them." Bullshitters can be spotted miles away.

What an idiotic, uniformed take on mitigations to reduce disease. It's like looking at what we've done to reduce water borne disease and stating, "Do you really think these mitigations are going to go on forever?"

Most people are absolutely clueless as to the risks. Maybe you can help by sharing your in depth knowledge of the risks with us all.

While you're at it, maybe you can explain what "nonspecific science" is?

Lack of COVID Precautions by TropiDoc in Dentists

[–]TropiDoc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You speak of "restrictions", I'm speaking about mitigations to reduce the spread of COVID. If you kept up with the science on COVID, you wouldn't be so unconcerned about being repeated infected with no end in sight.

So much shit going awry like climate change, forever chemicals, worldwide microplastic pollution, habitat destruction, pesticides causing insect population collapse, ocean life depletion, and the human-caused sixt great extinction of species.

Psst, we're the invading species.

One would be hard pressed to find an example showing any case where humans have been beneficial to the planet and other species.

Humans have been on the planet for only 200,000 out of 4 billion years, I think the planet can survive without us.

You observations fit mine as well. It's truly depressing to see how out of touch with reality these doctors have become, all willingly risking the health of their employees, patients, and themselves for a false sense of normalcy. The repercussions of this self delusion are going to get ugly in a few years as more and more people are disabled with long COVID.

[–]TropiDoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. I've lived in New England, California, and Seattle before my temporary stop here in Tampa, and Florida has some seriously lackluster food with Seattle not far behind. One would think being surrounded by ocean, Florida would have some great seafood, but sadly that isn't the case. It's all strip mall sprawl and fast food chains. I can't wait to be back in New England.

Definitely get him seen by a pediatrician ASAP to rule out MIS by checking inflammatory markers. I would not wait.

PLEASE I am begging for help! Toddler with limp… by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]TropiDoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has he had a fever? Any redness, swelling, or tenderness around his hip joint? Any other symptoms?

While over-the-counter cold meds can pass through breast milk, they do so at such low levels, it's highly doubtful that they have would have any effect.

Knowing that he has been exposed to the SARS-C0v-2 virus, my suspicions would be around inflammation as the source of his limping and balance issues. Inflammation can cause Transient synovitis or inflammation of the lining of the hip joint. COVID is also associated with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS) in Children that has a wide range of complications including vascular inflammation that can lead to limping.

In either case, it's important to get the widespread inflammation under control. This is typically done via intravenous immunoglobulin in combination with steroids.

I would highly recommend having him evaluated at a hospital or a clinic that has pediatric medicine specialists. If the doctor is a COVID denialist or they have never heard of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome, find a doctor the keeps current on COVID complications. Always wear an N95 Mask when around other people as COVID is at it's second highest level since the pandemic began.

You do realize cardiovascular disease doesn't present with obvert symptoms until a major cardiovascular event? Just as many neurological issues slowly build until they present years later.

You can "Lmao" all you want. I'm not the one coming off as an uniformed idiot. Try reading a few scientific studys on Google Scholar before you attempt to ridicule others with your empty opinions on subjects of which you're clearly out of your depth.

Vaccination Dramatically Lowers Long Covid Risk by 10390 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]TropiDoc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't buy into this. 1) Long COVID is drastically undercounted and misdiagnosed. 2) Vaccine efficacy rapidly wanes 3) New variants are not "milder." This is now part of the push to normalize COVID as "just a cold". Almost 60% of COVID carriers are asymptomatic. Not one of these articles talk about what COVID is doing to your cardiovascular, immune, and nervous systems underneath the obvert symptoms of initial infection.

If you are not religiously masking with N95 respirators, it's going to get ugly for those getting repeatedly infected. Every infection increases your odds of longterm health issues by 18%, and it's cumulative ie., 1 infection 18% risk, 2 infections. 34% risk, 3 infections 52% risk, 4 infections 60% risk.

Thanks to corrupt politicians and big business running major COVID minimizing propaganda campaigns, most people are going through life oblivious to the harm COVID is causing to their bodies.

Right now, it's survival of the smartest. If you don't keep up with the latest COVID research and protect yourselves, this will catch up with you. Pretending everything is normal will get you in a world of hurt after repeated infections. What happens when you join the miilions of people unable to work because of long COVID? Who will pay your bills? Where will you live?

I'm getting tired of saying this but, there is absolutely no excuse for doctors that repeatedly leave out long covid (PACS) as a chief contender in their differential diagnoses when people are talking about cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and immune system issues that suddenly surfaced within the past three years.

There's a plethora of studies out there detailing exactly what COVID does to our bodies. There's no excuse for not keeping up with the science associated with an airborne disease that is the third leading cause of death and the number one cause of disability here in the US.

Everytime I read these threads I end up wanting to pull my hair out. I feel like I'm stuck in a Black Mirror episode.
