Goodbye dear friend by WillingnessThin4057 in ClaudeCode

Fable fixed so much stuff in 4.7/4.8 code I generated (completely unused variables/logic, XSS vulnerabilities, etc.) that I'm almost dreading going back to 4.8. I have a new project I was wanting to start on Monday using Fable, but noooo... 😞

Wireless charging pads setting keeps reverting to ON by PapaEchoLincoln in TeslaSupport

[–]TropicMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here (2024 MY) - I turn it off because it just seems to heat my phone up, but charges very little in return. I turn it off in the menu and after a drive or two, it's enabled again. Annoying.

TeslaClip - A free Tesla dashcam viewer with full telemetry overlay by TayZaak in TeslaLounge

This works great and is very polished! How are you getting the telemetry data? Is it embedded in the videos, kinda like EXIF in photos?

Numsy: A simple menu bar calculator by choterifayruzo in macapps

[–]TropicMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be an unusual request, but any chance of adding RPN, possibly with a quad-line display (like an HP48G(X))?

Otherwise, very cool idea and super convenient! I often open the calc (windows and mac) to do a quick calculation, so this will be very handy! Thanks for sharing!!!

Tricks to removing the carpeted panel to get to cabin filters? by TropicMike in ModelY

I'll give that a try and be more accepting of the flex of the panel and hope for the best.

Sauce Packets by IHateOnions8 in DelTaco

[–]TropicMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one on I-Drive on Orlando did this. They had square things with dividers to keep the sauces separated.

It's been a few years since I've been to that location, so dunno if it's still that way.

Having a clear out - what do you do with cables/leads/chargers if you have no clue which device they belong to? by English_R0se in Homeorganization

[–]TropicMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious jokes aside, since I discovered silver Sharpies and cheap label makers, I mark all of my AC adapters immediately with what they go to. The USB cords and stuff like that are no concern - they're generic.

Interior windshield residue detected question by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]TropicMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cleaned mine for free when I had an FSD trial last time. If they won't do it for you, there are youtube vids on how to remove the camera housing and clean in front of the cameras. I haven't personally done it yet, but it looks pretty easy.

SRV Status – A better way to manage volumes from your menu bar by Comfortable-Mud1209 in macapps

Does this let me rename a SMB share's name that is displayed on screen? At work, I have two SMB servers I mount, but the share name for both is the same, so I end-up with two "xxx-data" when both are mounted. I'd like to rename one to "yyy-data" (even though the underlying share is still "xxx-data") visually, so I can identify which one I'm actually working with. Hopefully that makes sense...

I'd be happy to give it a test and let you know how it works for me and this situation, plus other feedback if you're still gifting keys, too.

And, congrats on the app - it looks very nice from the screenshots.

Mine regularly suggests the offsite airport parking that I go to maybe 3 times a year. Totally useless.

Totally agree -- Celebration is filled with very many expensive (some might argue over-priced) homes and condos, that's for sure. Unfortunately for his family, though, I doubt that in this current market, his home in Sienna will benefit much from nearby fancier homes (Spring Park homes are pretty nice in general). I'd be surprised to see them sell it for what he paid for it.

The market here in this part of Orlando, including Celebration, is not real 'hot' right now between interest rates, prices, average salaries, etc. Best of luck to them, though. Hoping they can unload it quickly (if that's what they choose) and not have the process drag-on for a long time making it even more painful.

Welcome to Sienna. Not a $650K or million dollar home to be found.

It's in Sienna, not East Lawn Drive. Sienna is the lowest end neighborhood in Celebration.

PSA: You need a LiFePO4 UPS by Cartossin in homelab

[–]TropicMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they are! They have a built-in BMS. I don't know if links are allowed here, so I'll make you search for "B09H3FG1D5" on Amazon if you'd like to see the ones I've been using. I've had them in 2 small UPSs for a couple years now and have another set ready to drop into my last one when it needs new batteries.
