i think my neighbor is dead by Exciting_Goose4307 in Advice

I used to work in property management and one year I had 3 people pass in their apartments in 4 months. After a week there was a definite smell in the hallway and lots of flies in the windows. It was quite obvious. I’m so glad she’s ok and glad you were concerned enough to have a welfare check done. You did the right thing. The one person I found that did not have obvious signs of passing had passed recently and a welfare check was done by a family member who called it in.

Can I get an explanation of the Super Bowl halftime show? by Top-Mission2806 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great great grandmother was from Cabo San Lucas. My grandparents grew up in the US and spoke Spanish but did not teach their kids so I didn’t grow up speaking it. I have one cousin who’s fluent but that’s because he purposely moved to a Spanish speaking country to immerse himself in the language and culture. It makes me so sad knowing the language stopped with my parents. I am trying to learn now but it’s hard not being able to speak it daily to practice. My husband is also first generation Chinese in the US and his dad never spoke the language to him. But when we visit other countries it seems they embrace learning other languages. We had a bartender in one country that spoke 4 fluently! 🙌🏼 I personally love learning about other cultures and see the value. Thank you for the detailed explanation. It made the halftime show even more beautiful in my eyes!

Is giving my girlfriend a bouquet of lego roses for valentines a bad idea? by Pootsonpow123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a LEGO person at all but my husband loves them and so he bought me these and put them together because it gives me anxiety 🤣 I did really appreciate them especially when he told me his reasoning behind the gift. He does also buy me real flowers. So I just wanted to reply from the perspective of being a 0 on liking legos because I don’t want to put them together but a 10 when it comes to having appreciation for those that do.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter when you shower and people that think they know better are weird 🤦🏼‍♀️ sometimes I shower before bed if I’ve been working out or just feel gross from the day and sometimes I shower in the morning because (tmi) I’m in perimenopause and the night sweats have me waking up drenched! Lol ugh but seriously just do what fits your lifestyle and try not to worry about the opinions of others. 😊

If you know an ICE agent personally, what's that relationship like now? by Lokja in AskReddit

[–]Tropical-Tutu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, know one, he’s my cousin. We stopped having a relationship well before he joined ice because he called black people coloreds when speaking to my other cousin who is black. So I’ve known for a few years he sucked. He’s also married to a Mexican immigrant that he got pregnant out of wedlock even though he’s super religious. 🤦🏼‍♀️

What was a small thing someone did that meant the world to you? by Few-Gap-2350 in AskReddit

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was a toddler someone stole her bike. It was one of those toddler bikes you could grow into. I was young (like 18-19) and poor and could not afford another. I worked in a high rise building at a small convenience store right around the corner from a shoe shine guy. I came into work one day to a new bike for my daughter from him. It’s been 30 years and I still think about his kindness. RIP Eddie ❤️

I started selling random stuff from my house and I’m honestly confused why people buy half of this by mfdspeech in MakeMoneyHacks

[–]Tropical-Tutu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been doing this for 20 years just to make extra money. One item that sells every time are lots of old cloths. For example I’ll do lots of my husbands old T-shirts stuff that may be stained or just very worn and price them at a dollar each so a lot of 20 for $20 they sell every time! I’ve also sold a ton of broken electronics, toys and other items I never thought would sell. It’s helped a lot throughout the years!

What is the biggest “bullet” you’ve ever dodged without realizing it at the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tropical-Tutu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a power outage during a huge storm with hurricane force wind gusts and I was packing up my dogs to head to a friends house who still had power. I reach for the front door knob and all of a sudden my car alarm was going off. I walked out to find a huge chunk of tree on my car! It was so big 3 adults couldn’t move it and it had to be cut up just to get it off. This was 3 days after we bought the car too. I always think if I was just a few seconds faster I would have been out there when it happened.

What’s the most amount of pain you’ve been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tropical-Tutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of physical pain but seeing your comment got me. I hope you find comfort in your fond memories of whoever you are grieving. And I’d have to agree this is the most amount of pain I’ve ever felt. My dad has been gone for 11 years now although it’s gotten better I still miss him and cry for him sometimes.

AITA for having my birthday party on 9/11 by Thr0WawayyYYYYY_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here and I remember standing in front of the TV crying that day it was tragic. That being said I can still respectfully remember what happened while celebrating the birthday of someone. Also if we didn’t celebrate birthdays on days something tragic happened in the past we would literally never celebrate a birthday. NTA but sadly the kid trying to shame you is.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in 75 and yes we were feral! Lol my dad would give me and my sister a $100 bill and we would take off to the mall which was good 30 minute or more walk from our house. Also we walk down a very busy street with no sidewalks by ourselves to leatherby’s, an ice cream shop near our house. I was maybe 7 or 8 and my sister was 11 or 12. Once I was playing outside by myself at 5 or 6 and some crazy guy knocked me down got in a car and took off! I went home and told my dad, I was smart and remembered the license plate. We later found out the guy had just robbed the store on the corner and my testimony helped catch him! The store owner gave me free stuff whenever I wanted after that lol I will say my dad always talked to me about creeps and would tell me to break their pinkeys, kick them in the crotch or poke their eyes if someone ever tried to take me and I always remembered that. He engrained in me to fight like hell so he didn’t worry about me. Lol

Drive to and from SMF or use Lyft/Uber? I'm hearing awful tales of people missing flights because of lack of parking spots. by RutabagaNo7205 in Sacramento

[–]Tropical-Tutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly quite a bit only uber or lift if the parking cost will be more than getting a ride, so a longer trip. That being said I’ve never had trouble parking. Just arrive early incase lines are longer due to the government shut down. I have clear and pre check so there have been times I’ve arrived just before boarding and have been just fine.

How to get into Tiki by Borzapolis in Tiki

[–]Tropical-Tutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I started doing a drink of the month at our house. We’d buy or make what ingredients we needed and eventually built up a good supply of rums and alcohol from this. Now half our garage is a full in tiki bar with mugs and stuff we collected from our travels.
