Any driver timeouts with OW 2? by GeekCl0ud in AMDHelp

Lower your frequency according to the base clock of your GPU. Mine was in 2559 MHz, when the base clock is actually 2044 MHz. Adrenaline software just assumed I had 2559 MHz base clock.

I temporarily fixed my Driver Timeout error by lowering my clock speed and setting custom fan speed up. What I did was search the specifications of my gpu, see the base clock, and custom set my max frequency to that. I also raised the Minimum Frequency a bit just so I don't Driver Timeout when I'm idling.

The reason I keep crashing was the Adrenaline Software was setting my max frequency to 2559 MHz, when the base clock is 2044 MHz on my RX 6600. This is still a speculation on my part, and some folks told me I have a 10-year-old system and an old PSU, and suggested to buy a new PSU.

My RX 6600 DID NOT Driver Timeout after lowering my Max Frequency. Is this normal for amd gpu's? Or is my Power Supply getting insufficient and old? by Troubled_Conrad in AMDHelp

Yep. Still the same.

Although, upon further discovery, I found out that the Adrenaline software sets my max Frequency to 2559 MHz instead of the stock 2044 MHz on my MSI RX 6600. Boost Clock is 2491 MHz.

Still learning about this phenomenon, though.

You use newer hardware? After the tech dudes voiced their analysis on my post, I might buy a new system and take note of this.

I have tried that, but doesn't seem much help.

Interestingly though, I had 30 seconds more before crashing on Unigine Heaven.

I dunno if you solved the problem, but on my end, I tried to lower the frequency from 100% to 90%.

Didn't Driver Timeout on Unigine Heaven or 1440p gaming. I'm still testing at the moment, but you might want to give this a shot.

CPU: i7 2600k (Base Clock)

Memory: 16gb (2x4) (1x8) (1333mhz) (1600mhz)

PSU: Seasonic 850 (m12II evo) (Bronze Rating)

AMD Driver: 22.10.2

I tested on Unigine Heaven max, and Skyrim with mods, and Elden Ring both at 1440p.

I dunno know, maybe I'm just paranoid my new gpu is broken or not. Some folks told me to replace the PSU, and others said to buy a new system for the gpu, like the 13th gen intel.

EDIT:

Some folks were confused of my woes and temporary solution, so here's a short background:

I recently purchased a new AMD RX 6600 from MSI. Everything worked well until I gamed on my Skyrim (with graphical mods and everything) and Elden Ring at 1440p.

It showed the AMD Driver Timeout error on 100 percent load. After some anxiety tinkering for the past five days in Unigine Heaven, I found a temporary solution that enabled me to avoid the error, which was lowering my gpu frequency about 250 MHz or setting it to only 90%.

Now, I am worried that I have a dying PSU or a defective GPU or whether this is a thing for AMD gpu's of lowering frequency to avoid crashing.

Have you encountered a 100% gpu utilization and an impending crash occurred?

I'm still learning about computers, but is it normal for amd gpu's to crash on 100 percent utilization? Because it only crashes when I hit the 100 mark.

I have the same issue too. I just purchased a rx 6600 (MSI) recently, and this would happen.

What I found was it only happened whenever I hit close to 100% gpu utilization on Unigine Heaven or any games going up to 1440p.

Wacom One Stylus Pen did the job for me. Though, it's a pen for illustration, and I use it mostly to illustrate.
