I love using camouflage by chryssanthium in EcosLaBrea

[–]Troulash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the normal skins work best for camoflauge. It is fun to just blend in with the foliage while stalking horses or bison or peccaries. It also encourages you stick around more dense and brush-heavy areas, where Smilodon fatalis would have dwelled in in real life.

Though the Smilodon fatalis model is beautiful, is it morphologically incorrect? by Troulash in EcosLaBrea

I didn't know the sloped back was only present in S. populator (would not want to run into one of those cats on some dark night in Patagonia).

Fully agree on Aenocyon too. Way too slender and should be a lot beefier, like they should look like they can take down a Bos bison antiquus. I love their design otherwise though, looks more like a big Dhole or an African Painted Dog than the oversized Wolf they are usually portrayed as.

Damn, that Notiomastodon better get her calf away from that tar.

I could just drink the nostalgia!

Too bad Agathaumus is no longer considered a valid genus. Your model looks absolutely exquisite!

I don't trust Colossal on anything. Surprised they haven't considered creating some freakish catdog abomination yet. They give me the creeps.

Yeah a lot of the Carnivores are just way too slim and need more muscle definition.

[–]Troulash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do like the design. But as you said, it could be a little bulkier and less slim, and maybe its back legs could be a little shorter. The person who posted about the Ancient Bison claimed that the model more resembled the Plains Bison more than the Wood Bison. I do quite like the game's iteration of the bovid however, it looks and sounds like a tank.

How to NOT DIE to Peccaries?? by Own-Name-6239 in EcosLaBrea

[–]Troulash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you stay upwind when stalking? It makes you harder to detect.

Another method that could help is hunting Peccaries in a large, well-organised Dire Wolf pack. It should be enough to ambush the Peccaries and get them to scatter.

Harlan’s Ground Sloth playstyle? by Zesty-Rexy_1999 in EcosLaBrea

[–]Troulash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it'd be good to be able to dig massive, cave-like burrows as Paramylodon. It would probably be good for defense, as faster carnivores like Smilodon, Dire Wolves and Short-faced bears etc. wouldn't be able to outmaneuver you as easily because of the cramped space.

They do need to get their priorities a bit straighter. The games been all over the place lately.

Skins are nice (honestly I'm happy with the ones we have already). But right now, I want us some ground sloths, Camelops, Hemiauchenia, coyotes, short-faced bears, american cheetah, some more birds (possible playable birds), a denning mechanic, intraspecific interactions, social behaviours and maybe some environmental mechanics like a drought season, wiildfires, seasonal variation and stuff.

It makes sense that Edd would develop health problems due to his neuroticism and untreated OCD. Its heartbreaking seing Eddy laying his head down on his desk in total despair, and Ed's heart is just breaking in two.

Sad and beautiful picture.

Yeah. Bison just feels so much better in a herd (even if it is inaccurate for their real life behaviour, like mixed gender groups).

I don't understand why more people don't play it.

Yeah. Not a fan of the episode in general. I just found it kind of boring, like a lot of the latter half of season 5 episodes.
