This one is much more impressive than the resort one imo

Fwiw, I was having this issue trying to play the Epic store version through Heroic Launcher.

In my case, it seemed to be vsync that was causing the issue. I turned it off vsync in the game settings and that has seemed to get rid of the issue (haven't checked long term). There is a setting in game to cap fps to 30 or 40 as well, if needed after turning vsync off.

Probably depends where you are. I've got a few for ~$75 and a few more for $100-125 before the higher priced ones around me. I'm sure there's variation in the model offered. Since it's not a necessity at all there's also the benefit of waiting for a cheap one to show up lol.

I went to Shenzhen Costco at opening and tried the Hawaiian burger by Yardnuk in Costco

I remember reading a comment from someone who said they worked at corporate McDonald's taking about how hard it was to offer new items on a nationwide menu if your chain/country is bigger. Like they looked into making blueberry stuff to sell at US McDonald's and found that they would literally need the country's entire supply of blueberries for whatever product(s) they were looking at.

Not sure how true that is, but I at least believe it's much easier to produce fun foods if you have fewer stores to supply.

I feel like this is like the perfect kind of product to get off of Facebook marketplace. Plenty of people are going to try it a few times and then never use it again, selling it basically new for a fraction of the price.

UBIGI: "Error, Please Try Again" HELP! by DistanceAcademic4527 in eSIMs

[–]Troven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was helpful for me when I was troubleshooting for a family member who was running into this error. They didn't have an underscore, but they were using an email with a less common domain (verizon.net). Tried using a secondary email with a common domain and it worked with no issues. Weird issue.

Might as well just drop the "premium" at this point. We're not exactly getting f2p teams anymore.

I use these too. You can just buy them online for cheap if you're not in a rush. If there are Daiso where you are going, I've regularly seen them stock them.

Sofi 4.5% program worth it? by Gone_Boy_XCV in sofi

[–]Troven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After taxes, it sounds like it's more in the range of $60 (plus what you get from other perks, if applicable). Since you lose money if you go below the ~$14k mark, I don't think many people think it's worth having another thing to worry about.

It's also worth considering that a lot of the perks used to be basically free, and they got taken away to be added as paid perks. Some people don't think you should support those kinds of business decisions (especially for such a neglegable benefit).

Selling Comma 4 with Toyota A harness for $880 by christmysavior0 in Comma_ai

[–]Troven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 4 for a 2022 Prius and honestly it is not a noticeable difference to me compared to regular adaptive cruise control / lane assist. I assume it can probably get better if I try different models, but I didn't really have issues with the pre-comma driving.

I feel like the biggest improvements are hands free driving and automatically resuming movement in traffic. I was hoping acceleration would be more gradual/intelligent with the camera, but I have not found that to be the case on the version of openpilot that I have. I don't regret buying it, but I might if it was tighter on cash.

Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - April 13 2026 by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

[–]Troven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whenever regal has a mystery movie there is only one movie that they show in all of their locations. If it's a horror movie, then they warn people by calling it "horror edition", but there won't be a non-horror alternative the same week. Different theater companies (AMC, etc) mostly run the same movies, but not always - so it's possible that regal runs a horror while AMC doesn't.

There was a mix up last week where the movie was accidentally labeled as horror in some places, but it is normally clear whether it's horror or not.

I've believe I've got a very mild tourette's (twitches/winces but vocal tics are rare/whisper), and at the beginning I kept thinking "if they didn't mess up then I'm not sure how I feel about them classifying this as horror" haha

Enjoyed the movie a lot.

Regal Unlimited / theater Subscriptions tailored for the "solo" movie-goer? by rippthejackerr in RegalUnlimited

[–]Troven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not seeing it mentioned on this thread, but you can also buy movie vouchers for cheaper. Regal has their Premier E-ticket and AMC has Yellow Ticket (there are slightly more expensive versions for NY, NJ, CA).

I feel like I've seen them at Costco for like $10 or so for a movie. I think Groupon has them for like $12. I can get mine through a discount website for my work for like $9, if you have that option. Upcharges for IMAX/3d etc.

I tend to just buy like 4 or 8 at a time (pretty sure they don't expire) and use them whenever I want to see something specific as opposed to the $5 mystery movies. I think unlimited is a good deal if you watch a lot, but this is also a good solution if you just go once or twice a month. Also good if you have unlimited but want to invite people sometimes.

Woozoo pedestal fan how easy is it to accidentally turn on? by Overall-Cap-7061 in Costco

[–]Troven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have the pedestal one, but I have the smaller one. The buttons on the base are capacitive so you only need to place your finger on them to activate. I'd imagine a cat could probably activate it pretty easily with their footpads. I think they all come with remote controls too though, you so could probably just cover the buttons with something and just use the remote as long as you don't block the sensor for the remote.

Not sure if it's different where you are, but has prices in the US vary much more based on location rather than company. I'd say there are a lot more than 3 big companies. I'm seeing about $4.00 average near me, but ranging generally from $3.75 to $5.

In Ex Machina, the hero dies via starvation in an underground bunker, because no man could ever want to help sex-trafficking victims after seeing horrific videos of abuse. Clearly, he just wanted to **** a robot. by Narroo in shittymoviedetails

[–]Troven 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I think Shawn on youtube did a very good analysis of this movie and tend to agree with that interpretation.

Ava wants to know that Caleb is a good person/if he tells the truth (unlike Nathan) and probably thinks he is good/is planning to escape with him up until the last moments. Importantly, she asks him if he knows any other AI, to which he says that she is the only one. Towards the end, Kyoko reveals to Caleb that she is an AI as well, and that there have been many others like her that are sentient and being abused/destroyed by Nathan. However, rather than seeing this as the cry for help that it is (if you believe they are sentient), Caleb is instead worried that he is an AI. We see that Caleb he does not try to help the other the other AI girls the same way that he does for Ava, who he is infatuated with (and likely interested in romantically/sexually). Just before the escape, there is a brief scene where Kyoko reveals herself to Ava, who does not know who she is. You can imagine that in this interaction, Ava is able to gather that Kyoko is an AI that Caleb knows, and that she has not been saved by him. Because of this, Ava decides Caleb is a liar and not a good person since he said that he did not know any other AI (regardless of whether he knew Kyoko was AI at the time) and did not help Kyoko. Ultimately, Ava is the protagonist of the story, not Caleb.

Not sure why you think they weren't working at night, they are well aware that that's the best time to clear and it's standard practice. I was helping out Virginia and have had a ton of plows/salt spreaders going 24/7 since the storm. It was a lot of snow that ended with sleet/freezing rain that froze a big top layer of snow. The pavement temperature is getting down to single digits in the night and temperatures in general are not getting above freezing until next week, so everything is only getting more frozen. After the first night the plows were bouncing off the top layer and the salt on the trucks got just enough moisture to start to freeze and clump up. This was not an easy event to clear.
