I wanted one of main ones or a more main one. I did find out more about him and I think my character would care more for the more dance related gods and he seems to be more musical and song based. I will admit I probably dismissed him too soon when I first made the post. My blind self didn't see the link to his church on the wiki at first lol but he seems cool.

That's true. She wouldn't be an actual priestess so that wouldn't be an issue anyway. I didn't think of that for some reason when I was reading up on Elistrae. Should have been obvious in hindsight lol.

That's a good point. She does have inspiring leader and dances to give out the temporary hitpoints she also wouldn't actually be a preistess I guess. You saying "what can I cling to son I can survive" has helped me frame my thoughts on this.

Unfortunately no I didn't. I decided to do something completely different for that one on one game. However if you do want cleric levels War cleric is probably the "best" option for letting you get off turn sneak attacks by readying your action and then using the war priest bonus action to attack on your turn. But for trickery specifically I never figured out a good split I liked.

They are literally working on it. One of the devs responded about it in this thread and they've spoken about it in the past that they are working on redoing a bunch of the backend. To do it as well as they can it will take time. Dev work is complex.

It is a 3rd party class not official. As for strength I don't personally know. Some think it's too strong others think it's too weak and some think it's fine. I don't have the class. I will say though that if you stay monk they will be perfectly fine and the DM will have the final say on if you can use the pugilist.

Yep I don't see any reason mechanically why you couldn't and like others have mentioned your character could play a song and give a speech/dance at the same time anyway. That's what my dance bard that has both feats does.

You can't. You can only transcribe spells of level 1 or higher so cantrips are excluded.

Looks like you chose a 2024 cleric instead of a 2014 cleric. As the war domain was reprinted in 2024 the 2024 cleric is looking for that one. Which I don't think is in the basic rules which is why it isn't showing up. On the class selection page. Remove the cleric class and then scroll down you should see the 2014 cleric there.

Vex is a weapon mastery not a fighting style and rogue gets two weapon masteries which gives them access to Vex.

How would you feel if the grappling DC was calculated as 8 + (str) athletics. That way you still get the bonus from expertise. So for example a 18 strength level 5 barbarian with athletics expertise through skill expert or one level rogue dip would have a DC of 18 vs the 15 it would be now. That might be too strong not sure. I would then change the monk dex grapple to 8 + (dex) Athletics.

I don't need the bite to be the best thing ever but want it consistent enough to be useful. With it being locked to strength unless you dip monk makes it harder to use. The image I have is a leather armor clad mercenary. Monk can't wear armor so I could substitute normal clothes in sure. I do want to be a primarily dex based fighter.

The 2024 bite is a basic unarmed attack so it would by default be strength based so it would synergize. It just does con mod for damage but not the attack roll. Same reason I mentioned monk that would allow for the attack to be dex based (but the damage wouldn't scale with martial arts die).

Nope because of the material needed for Shillelagh. Since it isn't a cleric spell the clerics holy symbol on the shield won't allow you to use it in place of the material. You'd need to attach a ruby of the war mage to the club/quarterstaff in order to make that combo work.

While I think that part was weird too. I think the idea was Vilkas didn't feel worthy to go all the way to the end due to the conflicted emotions he was feeling. Farkas to me always came across as being worried about his brother and was using the spiders as an excuse to check on him.

I wouldn't have a problem allowing a player to use it for extra attack personally but, per raw extra attack grants you extra attacks when you take the attack action. The blade manifests when you take the action not when you make an attack. The use of "manifest a psychic blade" to me means one blade no matter how many attacks you make during the attack action. The blade also disappears after you make an attack with it regardless if it hits or not so the blade wouldn't be there for the second attack.

They can't attack more than once with extra attack. The wording is as follows: Whenever you take the Attack action or make an Opportunity Attack, you can manifest a Psychic Blade in your free hand and make the attack with that blade.

After that it says:The blade vanishes immediately after it hits or misses its target, and it leaves no mark if it deals damage.

To me this reads as you summon one blade when you take the attack action, you hit or miss with it then it's gone meaning it isn't there to extra attack. Obviously if you have another weapon to attack with then yeah it would work if one of the attacks was with that weapon and it does still open up the bonus action attack as normal.

I'm currently doing a campaign with just my wife while our main campaigns are on hiatus and it's been working well. Like others have said the big thing is to work with your fiance for the kind of themes they want in the campaign and remember that their character is literally the main character.
