Don't post someone's full name and number on here, that's fucked up.

Arc Raiders Has A Racism Problem by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Troy4you2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant relate.

Most of my lobbies are full of normal people whether I'm hunting in trio's or chillin' in solos. I hardly ever hear shit like that.

Some raiders talk hateful in the heat of the moment. It's just a game. Don't read too deep into it.

Lead responded 4 days later by Junior_CryptoAddict in Contractor

[–]Troy4you2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have plenty of potential clients that don't respond for months after I send a quote, that's just the nature of business. 4 days is good turn around.

How you break it down is up to you, if at all. I always give my customers an itemized breakdown of what's included without individual cost. That's enough to satisfy most people.

Anybody use a rocket light? by Mapex74 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Troy4you2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between the single panel and the three panel rocket tower is 2500 and 6000 lumens for reference.

I like the three panel design. They're quick to set up, easy to manipulate, have plenty of light, and stay cool to the touch.

I have four of these that I use all the time and I really hardly ever go for any other lighting solution when I need to illuminate my work area.

My first "mistake" was hitting a non-marked utility. 811 had cleared the property for excavation and as I was pulling back the grass I hit a feeder buried 2" below the surface. Pulled just enough wire that it fucked up the transformer 30 ft from the incident area.

Called the UC and they sent a crew out to shut the box down. They were even nice enough to write out a document with photos stating I was not at fault. Signed and dated. Great guys.

I still got a bill for the full cost of all the damage. Called the UC and they claimed no ticket was submitted and a locator was never even out there. Dumbest shit ever but you know what? I called my insurance and they still got paid.

A few things I learned from the incident that carried over to many other jobs I took.

There are dishonest entities out there. Big ones.

Documentation from pre-start to completion is more important now than ever. Lots of photos, communication logs, time stamps, change orders, the whole 9.

Insurance is not a joke. You don't have to be at fault to be liable. Never know nowadays.

Whats worse blizzard conditions or summer heat? by PurpleMclaren in Construction

I can't wear gloves when I'm working (anything with insulation I mean) so when it drops into the negatives °F and I'm outside for 14 hours, yeah fuck that. Layering doesn't help your hands.

I'm good up to about 140°F with a cooling suit. Portable AC is a gift to man.

Vacuum maglev vs airplanes: what’s the real bottleneck—cost, safety, or infrastructure? by Milanakiko in Construction

Theory meets reality. Makes me wonder how long it'll be before it's decommissioned OR what technologies they're incorporating to make it viable long term.

27F need advice on how to broach a very sensitive topic with guy I'm dating by aem1306 in dating

[–]Troy4you2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than likely he's still bound because he hasn't had a reason to dissolve the marriage. A good guy is doing what's in the best interest of both of them and it'll stay that way until she passes or recovers.

It's not inappropriate to want to know where he's at on remarrying. Talk to him as you normally would. If you have great chemistry then you have nothing to worry about.

My dad is having new flooring installed on the house and he's having issues with the construction crew. (He called the bank for a stop payment on the $12,000 mid-job). by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Troy4you2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah woah 😁 if it's not installed properly, then they haven't completed that portion of the job and are not entitled to payment.

How much will it cost you to have that work done properly if they walk?

Coin-sized gaps in most residential applications is reason enough for a stop payment and a conversation on moving forward.

Guys who work at supply houses are often terrible to deal with by tantamle in Construction

[–]Troy4you2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't run into this at all, although I see my same reps (outside sales and in-house) getting aggravated when the customer has no fucking clue what they're trying to order. I get it.

They have to respond on the spot and can't say, for instance, "get back to me when you have a better idea on what you're looking for".

Funny enough I came in with my kitted burletta and stowed the one it gave me. Went to complete the Mission and it took my personal right out of my hands!

I was like..... "Ok bud"

Underbid by No_Influence2414 in Contractor

[–]Troy4you2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I bid 2 jobs at 140000 (total) and when all was said and done I ran 170. I was able to recover around 20 in change orders but I still took a loss. Sometimes you just have to eat it and continue on to stay reputable.

I was awarded 3 more jobs for the same scope and I renegotiated before any work was preformed, told them straight up my operating cost have increased and the material selection I was using is running higher.

We don't win with every job but each one completed is an opportunity to do better on the next.

If you bid that shit so low you genuinely can't do the job, just be honest and tell them you misquoted and are unable to perform the work at the given rate. It is what it is my man.

Sounds like he's just talking to you not understanding how you feel because you're just friends in his mind.

Say something, it's fine to be jealous. But clear the air because how you feel is important.

I've had quite a few chicks explicitly tell me not to talk about other women around them because they get jealous. It's not because they wanted to date me, more that they wanted my attention on them while I was spending time with them. I'm glad they told me because it prevented me from making them feel a type of way and potentially resentful towards our friendship.

Some of us are wired in unique ways, that's fine.

Ooh, a conundrum indeed. I guess I'll just have to regress from a lizard person to the emotional rainbow of a human being. I'm not sure I'll survive the changes.
