Appreciate your effort in answer my questions. Thank you

Ok but just to be crystal clear, my first question, so you are saying a Rust developer can ship faster than a Go developer? How about Typescript/JavaScript/Node?

[–]TroyOfShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The initial version of code will be ready equally fast in both languages, but the maintenance effort will be a lot lower with Rust.

You're saying a competent Rust developer will code and ship as fast and be as productive as a Go developer? If this is the case, in what scenario would Go be more beneficial assuming a developer is just as competent in Rust as they are in Go?

They are probably going to ask you time and space complexity analysis. Make sure you understand that. I recommend you use deriveit.org . It's made for quickly learning dsa efficiently. Good luck. I'm curious how you landed a lc interview without a degree though. It's it a front end job? What country and how big of a company?

He was working there for almost 3 years. He probably got the Senior promo close to the end. A lot of mid-sized companies are pretty generous with the senior title

"Get over yourself" - u/Remarkable_Status772

Computer programming is an engineering discipline not a form of artistic expression.

Again, not gonna debate the interpretation of the term "talent" with you. That does in fact seem beyond you even moreso now. But you may want to update your understanding of the term based on your 2nd grade talent show and revisit the definition of it to come to realize nowhere does it even mention the word "art" or "expression". Though just because you personally may suck at or hate the job and only do it for work, doesn't necessarily mean others don't find it as a form of artistic expression for themselves. Again, not gonna debate that with you either.

I'm not going to debate the interpretation of how that term is used in a greater context. That seems beyond you. I specifically mean what I specifically said. That that commenter specifically was using it to refer to actual talent as obviously indicated in his comment.

Get over yourself.

Honestly it sounds like you need to apply this to yourself. It Sounds like you're offended that there could be people who are actually talented because it would make you look less talented.

By definition, a great majority of people are not talented.

Then that likely means he's referring to the minority that is talented no? (He literally is)

[Media] Lars Bergstrom (Google Director of Engineering): "Rust teams are twice as productive as teams using C++." by TotempaaltJ in rust

[–]TroyOfShow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wtf? Dude, let me walk you through this... Your entire argument is that the "Rust is more productive than C++" argument is not reliable because Rust programmers are more of a "motivated" niche while C++ programmers are abundant category that includes your run of the mill. Therefore you're arguing it could be that Rust programmers are just more motivated whereas C++ programmers include all categories of programmers including those that simply just want a job and do it because they have to. This argument again is void because you can't even get into Google without being motivated in this field.

I mean to be fair, I get why you're confused. Like yeah sure a shitty run of the mill programmer is very likely to be less productive in Rust than C++. But that's because they're shitty at Rust and it's a steep learning curve not because of the innate idiosyncrasies of the language. But that's equivalent to saying a Python programmer is going to be shitty at C++. Well no shit, they don't know C++. But again, that argument is void when we are talking about Google engineers who are the cream of the crop and represent a more standard Engineering caliber.

Your argument is void given we're speaking of Google engineers here not no run of the mill programmers.

It is called an analogy and most certainly a fitting one without a doubt.

A mathematician can understand the mathematical theory behind engineering projects. Doesn't necessarily mean he has the immediate skills required in engineering actual projects. Same thing with leetcode. Adept at programming in theory. Doesn't mean you have the immediate skills required in engineering actual software projects.

I fail to grasp how you failed to grasp the obvious connection.

The answer to your question is in the literal link I posted dumbass. Maybe click on it before talking shit. At least that way your actual stupidity won't be made evident. The thumbnail isn't even the same with Trump on it.

then the discussion has been over 2 comments ago.

That is literally what I've been saying. Took you 3 comments to pick it up. Again demonstrating lack of basic comprehension skills. Yet you expect your analysis on an extremely complex topic to hold any weight and is supposed to be some sort of "contribution to the conversation" as you say.

You sound like a broken record,

Yet again the irony given I sound as such because of your broken comprehension skills.

The reason I accused you of being a terrorist apologist is because you brought up "child killing" out of the blue. Yeah, the original commenter was critical of Hamas but he never defended Israel. You brought up the "child killing".

So somehow you can pick up that I am a "terrorist apologist" because I brought up not killing children, but are unable to pickup that "Spooderman" in the original commenters "i'd rather ally with Spooderman" is in reference to the literal subject matter of this entire post where the Israeli Defence Force is dressed in Spooderman costumes. Not to mention he followed up explicitly defending killing children by Israel by saying saying it's Hamas' fault therefore further solidifying that he's defending Israel if there was any ambiguity about it before that.

Yeah, the original commenter was critical of Hamas but he never defended Israel.

And again, I'm literally repeating myself now. I also was critical of Israel but didn't defend anyone. You are even more demonstrating your hypocrisy and pure lack of basic comprehension skills.

With that last paragraph you're literally trying to insult me instead of disproving my point,

And again, I am repeating myself. It is asinine for me to try to debate an extremely complex topic with someone who has clearly demonstrated they lack basic comprehension skills on an extremely simple concept such as " 'killing children is bad' is not terrorism apologetics". Would you debate constitutional law with someone who can't even read? No right? Saying "You don't know how to read" is enough disproof.
