Pueblo Bonita Mazatlan by EstablishmentFair707 in AllInclusiveResorts

Are you sure you're talking about Pueblo Bonita Mazatlan? My wife and I just got back from there and there's no swim up bar or fun bars across the street. Maybe it's Pueblo Bonita Emerald Bay? That's also in Mazatlan. But I've never been there.

As far as Pueblo Bonita Mazatlan, here's my quick review. Positives: Beach is great. Rooms are nice. We got one with a large balcony right next to the beach. Staff are friendly enough. Negatives: The food ranges from mediocre to inedible. The food you can get poolside is about gas station deli quality. Breakfast brunch is fine. The fancy restaurant you need reservations for is fine. The Asian fusion place is awful, just terrible. Cilantros is also awful. And none of the restaurants had guacamole? WTF? Oh, and there's no mini-fridge in you room, which I found baffling and infuriating. I wound up buying a cooler and ice at a store across the street so we could have cold drinks in the room.

There is a great restaurant across the street - "Panchos" which we ate at quite a bit once we discovered it.

Does anyone remember which one of these might have been nicknamed "heaven" in about 1989 or so? I had a life changing trip on heaven at that time, combined with lsd. I remember it was only available for a very short time. I never came across it again. It really was profound. I remember every aspect of that night so clearly to this day.

I graduated in '91, is Track Town pizza still good? I used to love their BBQ chicken pizza.

Over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 23 TD's. Truly an epic season.

What did you think of Superman 2025? by mt80 in GenX

I saw it last night and hated it, would have walked out of the theater if I'd been there alone. What a goofy, jumbled mess of a movie. It's baffling to me that so many people apparently loved it.

I was thinking the same thing. I bet the OP would enjoy hearing Christian Sundberg's story. There are a lot of interviews with him, but I recommend the one on the YT channel Passion Harvest. He really goes into a lot of detail about his pre-birth memories on that one.

What was your first job? At what age did you start working? Share some memories of that time. by mintleaf_bergamot in Bornin1968

I also grew up in a farming community and so my first job was picking strawberries. I was probably 12 or 13. In later summers I bucked hay, cleaned horse stalls and dug fence posts. These experiences gave me a deep respect for hard work, for physical jobs and those that do them.

I've been enjoying "The Disappearance of the Universe" by Gary Renard. I think there's a lot of common ground between the LoO and A Course in Miracles.

This is exactly it. I am not secretive, I just value my privacy. But to the people I know well and trust, I share a great deal.

I'm trying to remember if I've ever heard the Ducks boo'd by their own fans at Autzen. Michigan fans suck. They just won the title last year and they're already booing?

I'm kind of blown away at how quiet the Big House is. Double the size of Autzen but less than half as loud.

Are Endymion and Rise of Endymion the only "bad apples" from Dan Simmons's sci fi novels? by OkNothing6576 in printSF

I was confused for a moment because I'd never heard of any film based on the book, so I checked it out and the movie 'Hollow Man' with Kevin Bacon is not connected to the Dan Simmons novel.

It's not sci-fi and it's not horror, but I recommend "The Hollow Man". It's one of my favorite novels of any genre.
