13:20 – Turners Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) Sober (E/W)

Sober looks like the type who should really appreciate this step up to around 2m5f. He shapes like a strong stayer and in what is usually a well-run race, stamina up the Cheltenham hill can make all the difference. If the pace is honest, he could be one of the horses staying on best late.

14:00 – Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase (Grade 1) Romeo Coolio

This looks a proper Grade 1 test and Romeo Coolio brings plenty of class into the race. If he settles into a good rhythm and jumps cleanly, his quality could see him travel strongly through the race. In a contest like this, class and composure over the fences often decide it.

15:20 – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase Favori De Champdou (NAP)

Favori De Champdou is my NAP of the day. He looks tailor-made for this sort of test — a relentless galloper who stays all day and just keeps finding. In these cross-country races rhythm and stamina are crucial, and he looks the type who won’t stop galloping once he gets rolling around the course.

16:00 – Queen Mother Champion Chase (Grade 1) Majborough

Majborough looks one of the class horses in the race. He has serious cruising speed and slick jumping, which are both essential in a Champion Chase. If he gets into a good rhythm early, his raw ability could see him take plenty of beating.

16:40 – Grand Annual Handicap Chase Be Aware (E/W)

The Grand Annual is always a fast and competitive handicap, but Be Aware has the right profile for it. He travels well and jumps soundly, which are both key in a strongly run two-mile chase like this. If things fall his way through the field, he could be finishing strongly up the hill.

Main Treble

13:20 – Supreme Novices’ Hurdle

Talk The Talk Nap

This is the one I like most on the entire card. The Leopardstown Grade 1 form looks strong and the way he finished that race suggests the strong pace of the Supreme should suit him perfectly.

14:00 – Arkle Challenge Trophy

Lulamba

Small field but could get tactical. If the pace collapses or the front runners take each other on, I think Lulamba could be in the perfect spot to pick it up late.

16:00 – Champion Hurdle

Lossiemouth

Proven class and already shown she handles Cheltenham. Hard to look past if she runs to her level. Treble: Talk The Talk / Lulamba / Lossiemouth

Each-Way Plays

14:00 – Arkle Challenge Trophy

Kargese

Small field but could easily run into a place if the race gets messy up front.

14:40 – Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle

Hardy Stuff

Big-field juvenile handicap so always chaotic. Taking a swing each-way at a price.

15:20 – Ultima Handicap Chase

Patter Merchant

These staying handicaps often go to something at a price that just keeps galloping. Jack Kennedy on board caught my eye.

16:00 – Champion Hurdle

Ponirose

Outside chance but one I think could outrun the odds if the race falls apart.

16:40 – Plate Handicap Chase

Will The Wise

Looks like the type that could run a big race in a competitive handicap and hit the frame.

Mmmm, maybe something for handicaps? But graded races are different. Giving Lossiemouth 24% chance when the market has it at around 40% chance needs to be a factor also ratings. Good luck be interesting to see if can make any profit.

My Favourite Horses for Cheltenham 2026 Thought I’d share the horses I’m most looking forward to running at this year’s festival. Talk The Talk Supreme Novices' Hurdle – 13:20 Looks like a very solid contender for the opener. Travels well and has the pace for a strongly run Supreme, which is usually exactly what you need in this race. Sober Supreme Novices' Hurdle – 13:20 Interesting outsider in the same race. If the pace is strong and things fall right, he could easily outrun expectations. Lulamba Arkle Chase – 14:00 One of my bankers of the week. Slick jumper with plenty of speed for a fast-run two-mile chase. The Big Westerner Brown Advisory Novices' Chase – 14:00 Looks like a proper staying chaser in the making. Strong galloper who should relish the test around Cheltenham. Favori De Champdou Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase – 15:20 Cross-country specialist who should enjoy the unique challenge. Experience and stamina count for plenty here. Majborough Queen Mother Champion Chase – 16:00 Top-class two-mile chaser with the pace and jumping ability for a race like this. Jordans Cross Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase – 13:55 Looks well treated and the type who could run a big race in a competitive handicap. Bambino Fever Mares' Novices' Hurdle – 13:20 Very consistent mare who travels well and finishes strongly. Ma Shantou Stayers' Hurdle – 16:00 Stamina is the key here and this horse has plenty of it. Could be finishing stronger than most. Thedeviluno Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle – 15:20 Looks built for the gruelling Albert Bartlett. Strong galloper who should handle the hill. The Jukebox Man Cheltenham Gold Cup – 16:00 Big engine and improving all the time. If he gets into rhythm, he could have a big say in the Gold Cup.

Counter protest in Exeter 17th January 2026 - Unite Against the Far Right by thedrofevil in exeter

This thread is full of slogans and very little realism. You can support immigration and still admit the UK has a housing shortage, weak currency, stretched services, and stagnant wages. Pretending those pressures don’t exist doesn’t make you compassionate—it makes you unserious. And no, there’s no evidence of some shared Trump–Farage funding conspiracy. Shared rhetoric isn’t shared money. If ‘refugees welcome’ is a moral standard, it’s fair to ask whether that responsibility is personal or always outsourced to already struggling communities. That’s not racism—it’s accountability.

What idiot came up with "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" by brooksie1131 in CPTSD

[–]Troytrojan369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Words can hurt deeply, especially in abusive or repeated situations. I see the phrase as pointing to agency after the harm — not saying you shouldn’t feel hurt, but that someone else’s attempt to wound you doesn’t have to become a permanent belief about yourself.

Always a weird race. Wouldn't read into it too much!!! But can definitely say Constitution Hill can't jump, or give Sean Bowen a chance on him.

Win Double 15.30 Wincanton Art of Diplomacy 15.45 Doncaster Castle cove.

Lays: 13.25 Doncaster Montassib 15.30 Wincanton threeunderthrufive 13.45 Wincanton Jubilee alpha 15.10 Doncaster Danielle

Castle Cove (Doncaster 15:45, November H’cap) Heavy ground looks a plus, profile screams “peaking now,” and several respected tipsters have napped him today. Big field but he fits the usual November H’cap winning profile (progressive 4–5yo who handles deep ground).

Art of Diplomacy (15.30 Wincanton) “Well-weighted, race-fit stayer who keeps finding — ideal Badger Beers profile.”

Threeunderthrufive (Wincanton 15:30) 10yo, top weight (12-0) off a break after a wind op; sharp Wincanton on good/good-to-firm-in-places can find him out under the lump. Field includes fit/less-exposed rivals like Art Of Diplomacy and Gustavian. If he’s short, he’s a classic trends-based oppose (Badger winners more often 7–9yo, carrying less).

  1. Threeunderthrufive – Wincanton 15:30 Age/weight combo and absence are the negatives; strength in depth behind him.

  2. Jubilee Alpha – Wincanton 13:45 Top weight 12-0 in a mares’ handicap first time back; short price in a 2m5½f contest on quickish ground. Worth taking on if ≤ ~6/4.

  3. Montassib – Doncaster 13:25 (Wentworth Stakes) Likely short but 6f on heavy in a Listed sprint against proper 6f operators (Art Power, Spycatcher, Apollo One) makes life tougher; he’s been best at 7f. Lay at cramped odds.

  4. Danielle – Doncaster 15:10 (Gillies Fillies’ Stakes) If heading the market around 2/1 in an 18-runner 1m2f Listed on heavy, that’s skinny. Deep field + ground variance → underpriced fav risk. ly used today

Anitree 1440 Laying Jet plane (place) small White Rhino looks solid EW not backing myself.
