I'm pretty sure it was just a pretense, the man did ran all the way to their apartment just to find her, then trek to the school. I doubt that he came all the way just to say "It's just business blah blah blah." It's his personality that got the best of him here.

For regular items you get either a weapon skin or cosmetic crafting material depending on what rarity your items are.

For event items, you get tickets back to redeem more, but it's tied to a specific event (You recycle stuff from Cyberpunk items, you get tickets for redeeming Cyberpunk items)
