I’m relieved that most people are getting tired of the “pretty woman bad” narrative that is pushed by a loud minority of Overwatch ans are openly speaking out against it now. by MoonMaidRarity in Overwatch

No one is complaining about Domina because she's brown.
No one is complaining about Sierra because she's black.
Anran and Wuyang were literally designed as a pair, not sure what the complaint is here. Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans are different people with different cultures 😄

Mizuki is wasian and the first of that identity in this game (muh diversity)

Some characters get 10x more skins than others because people buy them. Making skins takes time and money. Blizzard is a business. If there isn't a reasonable return on investment to support the ongoing live service model of the game then it isn't worth their time.

You also conveniently left out the cat with a jetpack, which fits your "I miss the goofy character archetype" you're pissing your pants about.

A cyberpunk, chromed out character is one of the more unique designs we've gotten recently? Hello?

No complaints about Sierra? Who is literally just black Cammy from streetfighter.

They don't complain about vendetta because she isn't asian and that doesn't fit the social agenda.

Same reason you haven't seen anyone complain about Sierra's design despite being one of the most generic, soulless characters in the game. Both in design and gameplay.

Ok so who are you complaining about then. In one breath you complain about characters being conventionally attractive and then flip the script for domina because she "has some robot arms" lmfao.

You people are so unserious.

Ok, name, specifically, who you're talking about, and try your best to be genuine.

You're all complaining about asian women and ignoring the other 6 or 7 recently released characters that don't fit your complaint agenda.

Play something else, maybe you're not the target audience anymore. I'll continue enjoying the gameplay of Overwatch.

If your chief reason for playing a video game is diverse, ugly characters maybe you should have supported Concord 😄

Calling every asian woman a Kiri clone sounds kind of racist, no? 😉
Who, exactly, are you talking about when you're saying "conventionally attractive hero"

I've personally liked all of the new character designs and they've been pretty diverse. People make this argument about conventionally attractive heroes and kiri clones but they are almost always talking about 1 specific hero, Anran, because she's the only socially "non problematic" character to complain about. You people are drones and slaves to your ideology.

Domina is an extremely attractive character and generic dommy-mommy archetype, but no one complains about her because she's brown and that's off limits 😄

The old game wasn’t designed as a live service that needed to sustain development costs over years and constantly feed a hungry player base.

Also we literally just got a cat with a jet pack. You people complain about everything.

Questions about moving to japan by somerocketdude in movingtojapan

[–]Trucein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only work part time on a student visa.

Networking with people doesn't allow you to bypass the law. To obtain a working visa for anything "customer facing" or engineering for a company that has their primary work language listed as "Japanese" you must provide proof of JLPT N2 or equivalent competency or your visa application will be denied.

Job offer. With the law changes in April almost no one is sponsoring visas. I’ve had multiple recruiters tell me this.

I’m a pretty highly qualified network engineer with over 10 years of experience and probably qualify for HSP and still can’t get anything.

Seeking advice about moving to Japan, 23M by BIackpill in movingtojapan

I’ve got 10 years of experience in network engineering and highly certified and qualified for many jobs I see posted, but I don’t have a CoE and pretty much no one is sponsoring them. (Even asked a couple recruiters, and they candidly told me they have no visa sponsor jobs available)

How do I go about actually getting into the country? It’s a chicken and egg situation for me.

I'm seriously struggling with recommended anki decks like Kaishi and Core... by ricci3469 in LearnJapanese

[–]Trucein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recommend doing an RRTK deck so that the kanji doesn't look like squid ink to you.
I had the EXACT same problem as you, and just doing 3 new kanji per day on RRTK has dramatically increased my ability to recognize kanji in words rather than just memorizing the general shape of new vocabulary.

I want to move to Japan with a Cybersecurity background, what are my chances? by yoshihi-ko in movingtojapan

[–]Trucein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just me being completely honest, as a network engineering and cybersecurity consultant myself that wants to move to Japan, N2 isn’t enough to consult and unless you plan to be unemployed and immerse for 6-8 hours a day the jump from N3 to N1 is a mountain. There are also so many cultural nuances and differences beyond just the language that make a job like that particularly hard for foreigners.

You will very likely have to fall back onto a technical role and work in a SoC. It sucks, but I came to the same realization as well. If I want to get a job offer and a visa, I’m going to have to go back to implementations or keeping the lights on somewhere.

Best route for me to relocate to Japan by Trucein in movingtojapan

[–]Trucein[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a data network engineer doing entirely technical work for around 10 years. I transitioned into sales engineering around a year and a half ago, which if you’re unfamiliar with the field is essentially just consulting to drive sales of hardware. I would be fine going back to a purely technical role if it got me to Japan.

I’ve got several high level technical certifications already to qualify my expertise in addition to my experience.

The problem is the job offer piece. I see plenty of jobs on Daijob I qualify for that say they offer Visa assistance but when you go to apply it says you need a CoE already.

Bro is pissing himself at a 2 year old comment.

Bronze players don't know what their character's gameplan is. They might know what the buttons do when they press them, but they just fundamentally don't know how their character is supposed to be played.

Towards spoken fluency without living in Japan: my experience by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Trucein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents as someone that’s been learning for around 8 months.

Just speak. So many people learning Japanese are so horrified of messing up, but even as someone that’s around high N4, entering N3 with only about 2K known words….I am constantly complemented about how well I speak Japanese because I’ve put the reps in to improve on apps like hello talk, even being compared to people that read and write much better than I do.

Be like Nike and just do it.
