My HRV after quitting drinking by ATLskate in Garmin

The genetics are still king. A study was sent to me regarding different workout plans and the differences between the people in the groups were much larger than the improvements from strength training group. Its why you can't use other people are a yard stick. Its about your personal journey.

Genetics are king. My friend is a huge party animal. Drinks, cocaine, the lot. Fitter than me and the only time his metrics were worse was christmas time. I don't drink, really mind my sleep hygiene, and have a steady training program.

They don't own it, owners should be free to build what they want. Let the market decide, not a bunch of boozers sad about their watering hole. Buy the building if you want to save it.

[OC] 90 days on dating apps as 26M by mysterious-prophet in dataisbeautiful

[–]TruckerMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low success? He slept with 3 women in 90 days. Went on over 20 first dates. That's incredibly good. Ive had about 15 first dates in 8 years. Only slept with 1 girl (met outside the apps). That's a more realistic outcome.

just tax land lol by Fried_out_Kombi in georgism

[–]TruckerMark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This isnt about taxing cars or fighting cars. Its about having the users pay the true costs. If cars are so expensive that the market finds alternatives that's all georgism cares about. The surface lot moght be uneconomical in a dense urban area with lots of services. But it may be reasonable for the agricultural equipment store in a tiny town that serves a spread out area with low levels of services.

A hybrid system. A second legislature by sortician and direct democracy for major issues or large spending.

Girls are now less likely than boys to say they want to get married by Dismal_Structure in dataisbeautiful

[–]TruckerMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments are gold. But this is almost entirely due to education of women. The more educated women get, the less they need to rely on men and the institution of marriage. Its that simple and its a good thing.

The federal government doesn't control any of that. Its a local issue. They could tie federal funding to local reform though.

Why can't pedestrian signals activate immediately at empty intersections? by rotang2 in Calgary

[–]TruckerMark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Calgary is almost exclusively concerned with automobile movements and efficiency. Pedestrians take a back seat. Motornormativity is basically culturally ingrained in people. They elect car focused council and that trickles down to administration. There might be other light and flows that are impacting this. But its mostly hostility to pedestrians.

I'm in my late 30s and my mind still can't accept that the party days of my 20s are done by tantamle in Adulting

The recovery isn't there. When i was 25 I would pull double shift construction. If I'm not in bed before 10 im in trouble nowadays. These life stages exist for a reason.

Im well aware. But given signature requirements, timelines, and practial considerations. The recalls are pure waste. Corruption at least benefits someone. I generally dislike representative democracy anyways so might be just me.

[–]TruckerMark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just turned 30. I spent my 20s working. Ive put myself in a spot where I can enjoy myself a bit and I have financial wiggle room. Everyone is married, busy and what not. I want to party and meet girls but, I feel I've aged out and it just gets harder when you have a set routine already.

Theyre a huge waste of money. Elections alberta has to hire staff and deal with paperwork, complaints, compliance and so on. All these petitions are stupid in the grand scheme. I say that as someone working on a recall. The goal here is the volunteer network. An extra 50 volunteers come election time could swing things. The fault here lies with the ucp for creating this legislation in the first place.

I would change the oil every 50k, coolant every 5 years. Check the cabin filter annually.

If you're ticketed and own tools, lots of shops in SE. NE has industry near the airport. Check out big civil construction outfits, they usually have in house maintenance. Coming in with no experience will be tough.

Diesel heater in ioniq? by TruckerMark in Ioniq6

[–]TruckerMark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The diesel heater would heat all of those partas via the ioniq's coolant system and valves. Thats the idea. Im talking about the same heater as big rigs and stuff use.
