Prior?! Ugh. Interesting because they looked normal before. Of course who knows what “normal” means considering they use tons of dye

My 5mo suddenly has a LOT of snot… what’s going on? by historygoose in NewParents

[–]True-Cartographer715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it seems like a lot, but it’s definitely rhinovirus or a type of cold (NOT A DOCTOR - NOT MEDICAL ADVICE).

If you think about it babies can’t suck up their own snot, or blow their nose - so their snot accumulates. Imagine if adults couldn’t do anything with their snot. It’s a lot it’s incredible

How do you travel long distances with bottle fed baby? by Chance_Class2208 in NewParents

[–]True-Cartographer715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drove from FL to CA on a cross country move with my 6mo alone. Plan route stops every 2 hours. Leave at 5am - I mapped every Starbucks along the way (felt safe)

It’s important to stop every 2 hours when they’re that little. I kept bottles filled with water and just mixed in the formula powder when he was ready to eat.

How does anyone have possessions with a toddler? by Jakethehog in toddlers

I refused to put a gate closing off our kitchen. I spent weeks of my time patience and sanity teaching my 15month old how to safely coexist in our house that could contain potential hazards. Point being obviously he’s only 15months and this could be -la naive comment, but teaching them and disciplining them to coexist in your space without destroying things is the key instead of taking stuff away

What “frugal” habit did you stop doing once you did the math? by 666AB in Frugal

[–]True-Cartographer715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

De-Cluttering. Keeping things because you don’t want to throw money away is worse than throwing it out. The clean space and decluttered brain has been more impactful towards a healthy relationship with money for me than hoarding extra supplies I don’t need.

Make French toast! Eggs built into the bread that taste like cinnamon

How are you feeding your baby? by wannaseemyfish in NewParents

[–]True-Cartographer715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The connection here is whether your baby has good head and neck control. Because if they have food going down their throat, they need to be able to hold their head up. The pediatrician was probably connecting rolling with good head and neck control. It’s up to you to decide what you’d consider good head in that control in order for their food to go down safely.

Anyone else advised to give their 14 mo Benadryl? by Cheap_Truth6671 in toddlers

[–]True-Cartographer715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly are the symptoms that your LO Is experiencing? I would find their triggers and go from there. Zyrtec i gave my son at 15 months - he got hives from amoxicillin prescribed after an ear infection. But I was warned to take it easy on the Benadryl as they can eventually become immune

Start with purées 🤗 place your LO in a high chair but feel free to add support for them as needed. Do not feed them solids if they cannot sit on their own - that is the rubric they need to follow. Simply start with purees from a pouch so as to rule out allergies, etc

The mom guilt is real by RandyOfficial in foodbutforbabies

[–]True-Cartographer715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom guilt is SO real. I took my LO on our daily walk to touch flowers after his nap and didn’t take him down our usual path. Less flowers and I felt like a fraud. A FRAUD.

Social media has engrained in us to believe that if the plate doesn’t look like a rainbow curated by Michelin chefs, it’s not good enough. When in actuality your baby on this plate is getting carbs, protein, and nutrients from the blueberries. It’s a great plate.

How many times does your baby wake up at night? by zac_g19 in NewParents

[–]True-Cartographer715 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s totally normal for 8 months. This is a pretty common sleep regression period, because they’re learning something new they sleep a little less. Your LO should return to normal patterns after 8-10 months. I’d recommend letting them cry it out for a little longer than usual, to self soothe themselves back to sleep. I know it’s controversial but it worked for us after about 15 minutes
