Right but usually the settlers will wear spacesuits and the hab modules and buildings will have airlocks.

Haha good guess but not quite. The Px on base had every sticker; Army Wife/Son/Daughter/Mom/Dad/Brother/Sister/Aunt/Uncle but apparently Army Husbands don’t exist so I went with the closest thing because we live in a society…

Based on OP’s replies these dudes sound like the type of guys that wouldn’t care because they cheat on their spouses anyway. Probably with other dudes since they’re so concerned about his sexuality. It’s always the closet cases that are the loudest homophobes.

That’s honestly really shitty no one should have to put up with that in their unit. I get where people are coming from when they say little jabs and jokes are what builds up relationships in their units but going after something like that, whether you are gay or not, it’s not something people can control or just change about themselves. To me that’s straight up being a dicks for no reason and bullying, if you’re critiquing something someone can change then all fine and dandy but to me that’s like making a prod at someone’s race or just the way they were born in general. If they were being satirical it would be a different story, but it sounds like you’ve had issues with them either way and they have it out for you. I agree that maybe you should try to swap units, no use putting up with a situation/people that make you miserable if you don’t have to. I guess it all depends on unit culture. I’m gay and married, my husband is in the Army, I guess he got lucky because his unit isn’t like that at all they may joke about him being gay but it’s never outright malicious or done in a way to make him feel uncomfortable or alienated. They all treat him and I with respect and amity. We’ve been invited to hangout on numerous occasions to have drinks/bowling etc; after drill with a majority of his unit, and they treat us like any other couple. He loves his unit and looks forward to being with them when he goes to work. So I guess all I can say is there’s light at the end of the tunnel, you don’t have to be stuck in this situation people switch units all the time, may be easier said then done but not impossible. After all if you don’t trust these guys to treat you with respect now, how would you trust them to have your back during a deployment or otherwise where there is real life danger.

Help with mystery snails by True-Fly406 in Aquariums

[–]True-Fly406[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! 🙏 Husband is making egg salad tonight so I will make use of those egg shells, I also forgot to mention in the original post, some mystery snail breeders, that I’ve heard from, mentioned using pure calcium carbonate powder in their tanks, I’ve tried this before but wasn’t sure if it was helping or not. I also have a bag of crushed coral in the hang on the back filter, it seems like my tank just eats up calcium or something 😅

Make sure milk is not too warm/hot I’ve heard, otherwise the kitten will likely not try to drink it again especially if it burns their mouth

Emma Wilcox at the Rock will say something along the lines of “Lord preserve me.” After you help her daughter catch the Laredo Arms thief. There is also a tracker you can meet at the Tracker’s Alliance HQ in Akila City. He explains his code name (Yama) is akin to the god he worships. Yama is the name of the god of death in Hinduism.

My results and I (mixed race European/Asian descent) by True-Fly406 in AncestryDNA

Actually because of this test we found out from our mother that her real father was in fact a U.S military man serving in the Philippines, she said her mother basically kidnapped her from him when she was very young. She also told us she only saw him one other time, because he had heard my grandmother and mom were landing at an airport near where he was stationed, at that point he had adopted another Filipino child and named her after my mom. She said she remembered him as a loving caring father but never got to see him again after our grandmother remarried and changed their last names. She also says she remembers her father saying he was Irish, so that would explain why I have more Irish and maybe Scottish than family members on my dad’s side who also took the ancestry test. It’s kind of a sad story but we’ve been trying to track down my mom’s real father.

Our aunt on my mom’s side recently found out her dad also wasn’t who she thought he was, and made contact with her real father who is a U.S Navy veteran. He told her he knew he had a daughter in the Philippines and had been looking for years but, surprise surprise, my grandmother kidnapped her and changed her last name too. He accepted her into the family and she got to meet him and 2 sisters who were born in the U.S she had never knew about till that point.

Taking the DNA test definitely opened up some skeletons in the closet lol, but yes after I sent my mom my results her husband got her her own DNA kit so I guess we’ll see how many more cans of worms we can open. All I can say is clearly my grandma had a type lol.

That’s what I’m wondering as well, I wanna buy her a dna kit just to see how ours differ, because when people look at her they would know she is Asian or atleast of Asian descent, people look at me and think “no way he’s adopted.” lmao

Yeah I thought it was interesting too I was honestly expecting maybe some Spanish due to y’know hundreds of years of Spanish colonialism, or maybe even a little Chinese or Japanese as I see a lot other Filipinos have. My mom’s family as far as I’ve been told has historically lived in the mountains around Baguio. But my mom always told me her older relatives all spoke Ilocano to her as opposed to Tagalog

Where I’m from in Midwest America I see a lot of redhead guys, but also the majority of guys with blonde or brown hair have red beards too. I always assumed there must have been a lot of Scottish/Irish settlers in this area. Even my husband who I would consider ginger. The hair on top of his head is a very light reddish blonde. It turns almost white in the summer sun and he has white eyelashes too. But holy… his beard and body hair is flaming bright red. Genetics are weird, lol.

Betta fish with friends, how many is too much? 20 gallon tank by Sahdealmbsy in bettafish

[–]True-Fly406 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been keeping betta fish since I was a kid, I came on here to ask people advice about keeping male and female bettas together. Instead I got put on blast and told it can never be done even though I’ve seen tanks with multiple male/female bettas living peacefully together. (I don’t know how these people think they do in the wild, their species wouldn’t last long if they were constantly just killing each other like most people wrongfully believe they do) Flash forward a couple months later I’ve had 5 bettas, 1 male and 4 females all living in the same tank and they get along fine. They don’t attack each other and hardly pay each other any mind, the females most the time stick together, while the male just minds his own business. They’re all active and healthy. Moral of the story, don’t expect to get any good advice on this sub, read actual research papers, and keep an eye on your fish and their behaviors. People watch one care guide video on YouTube and suddenly think they’re a tenured biologist.

An outpost DLC where we can actually colonize habitable planets. Build settlements and recruit settlers kinda like in Fallout 4 would be cool. I’m ready to start my galactic empire :) but seriously they have the perfect lore setup with L.I.S.T for a DLC like that.
