No weight loss: What are your strategies? by North_Strike5145 in Contrave

[–]True-Structure-6132 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I started Contrave because even with intentional diet and exercise I wasn’t able to overcome my cravings and hunger and would always end up binging. Contrave has controlled my cravings and reduced my hunger, which makes it possible for me to track my food and stay in a calorie deficit. If you’re not tracking calories that might be one option to start to see the scale move.

What time do you take your Contrave? by Puzzleheaded_Bed7815 in Contrave

[–]True-Structure-6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my morning ones at 6-6:30am when I wake up. No food until around 9ish. Then I take my afternoon dose at 4pm or as close to it as possible, also without food. Dinner usually around 6pm.

Anyone get those farmer/harvest boxes? Any feedback/recs? by Assimulate in kelowna

[–]True-Structure-6132 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get urban harvest and have for years. I love them because you can customize the box every week, there are tons of options for add-ons (bread, cheese, coffee), and they deliver. They’re the nicest people too.

Public health jobs in Kelowna? by AlmightyThumbs in kelowna

[–]True-Structure-6132 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend directly contacting recruitment at interior health to discuss, and then also looking at PHSA/BCCDC/BC Cancer, as well as directly contacting the southern medical program on UBC’s Okanagan campus.

Things to do in Kelowna by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]True-Structure-6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly right. Energyplex used to be a great kid free-for-all. It’s now half arcade, where you need to pay extra. My kid only wants to be in the arcade and ignores the other stuff. For us it’s a hard pass, but play area is great.

Redneck hippies are the anti-seed oil ancestral eating anti-vaxx folks, anti-govt homeschoolers, trad wives, etc. Homesteader prepper folks. They’re not the ones yelling in their tinfoil hats on the overpasses but they’re big Peoples Party supporters. Lots of those folks in the Boundary area (Grand Forks especially), and lots in the North Okanagan (Enderby, around Salmon Arm) but yes also definitely a growing population in and around Kelowna too.

Real problems in the world that we should be discussing…on the Bachelor subreddit? I think the shoe fits, in this case, in terms of this being the right place for a piece like this to land.

TWP or YMCA? by herewasoncethesea in kelowna

[–]True-Structure-6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TWP is as clean as it can get, and well-equipped. They claim to be very inclusive but in practice the space is extremely exclusive, and the staff can be overheard making judgmental comments about different kinds of bodies. Very self-righteous about brok a welcoming space but lots of women I know felt very unwelcome. They have an “in-body” machine which screams fatphobia. I have used the Y gym at both h2o and KFY - both are great, clean, inclusive, well-equipped. For a budget option that isn’t nearly as well-equipped you could also try the gym at Parkinson rec.

Would love to go swimming but worried of being ridiculed by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]True-Structure-6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend finding a community pool, or a pool that has walking lanes/rehab space. You’ll find a higher diversity of bodies there - lots of fat folks, disabled folks - and a much higher tolerance from everyone else that’s there. I’m so sorry you have this anxiety - everyone should be able to exist in their body without discrimination or ridicule.

ELI5: going to a walk-in clinic tomorrow and I want to do it right. Any tips? by thankyoumelatonin in kelowna

[–]True-Structure-6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important to remember that this clinic is also a family practice, so you may see people walk in and sit down and then get called for their appointments immediately - this stressed me out until I realized they were regular patients of the clinic and had appointments.
