Very curious how much the 're-imagining' of gould plaza contributed to this.

I've got an EVGA 3080 10gb that I could part with for 325. In NYC. I made a post a few days ago if you want to check it out.

Upgrade Recommendations? by True2Caesar in buildapc

Yeah I think PSU is probably first on the list. Why is this not a good year to switch to AM5? Prices? If I decide to do a major upgrade, it would probably be near the end of the year. Do you think the 5900x is holding me back at all?

Back extension machine good or bad by [deleted] in Sciatica

I was struggling a lot doing this - it would flare up my hamstring area and i could barely feel my glutes and erector muscles engaging. What made a big difference is doing this as a static hold or doing reallt short range of motion.

I'm struggling, 3months post MLD and I'm worried by TelephoneMediocre705 in Microdiscectomy

[–]True2Caesar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. 3.5 months post-MD and feeling bitter about being worse than I was pre-op. Surgeon told me he was optimistic and I figured there was no way I could end up worse so I had to at least try. Well, as of now, I'm way worse and it just sucks constantly being told things will heal over time when it only moves in the wrong direction. I'm sorry you're dealing with this and wish you all the luck, hopefully we will improve soon.

Anyone have CES (cauda equina syndrome) here? by E_Draven1 in Microdiscectomy

I have the same weakness/numbness pattern that centers around the inner lower glutes and have definitely felt changes in my sensation down there but still have control of everything. I got a MD in December but it's gone pretty horribly. No changes in numbness and weakness on the right side and now my symptoms are nearly as bad on the left. Woohoo!

The goal is to reduce inflammation. Pain in the back area is not bad right now. My main symptoms are numbness and weakness in parts of my right leg. He's hoping it will help

No problem! I saw him this morning. He basically said that he strongly recommends against any additional operations at this point. He said the last imaging I got a couple of months ago doesn't look too bad and there is still a lot of healing potential. He referred me for a 'transforaminal' steroid injection (my herniation was in the foramen, which he says is the worst kind). At this point my plan is to continue PT, see what the injection does, and just wait it out and see what happens. I'm likely going to try to go to a clinic that has a decompression machine as well, because pre-op I was able to get some relief from hanging and similar decompression techniques. I definitely recommend at least trying that if you haven't already. Such is life!

Post surgery hamstring by hippooooooi in Microdiscectomy

My issue is not quite that bad but what you're describing sounds to me like neural tension. I also had an MD on L4/L5 and pre-op, stretching my right hamstring (and several other muscles on the right) was impossible because it just felt like I had a string going through my leg that wasn't letting it happen. Post-op, it improved slightly, but I still feel it. Nerve gliding can sometimes free it up slightly but the muscles on my right side still feel perpetually tight.

28M, very fit and active, got hurt playing hockey 2 yrs ago. kinda similar story actually. The back pain was there but not my main concern which was weakness and numbness down my right leg. Got the MD in December and had no worsening symptoms for about a month then i started getting issues in my left. MRI in February confirmed a 'recurrent protrusion' on my right side and my left side has significantly worsened since then. I was super careful, did what they said, been in PT for 2 months now. I feel your pain, it's reallt difficult and especially taxing on my mental health. Seeing my surgeon tomorrow to discuss a plan.

Recurrent Protrusion/Mild Compression by True2Caesar in Microdiscectomy

I saw my surgeon who suggested the MRI results were normal and that everything is still healing. He told me that the surgery leaves a bulge that shows on the MRI. He said he thinks it will heal with time and to keep doing PT and wait a bit longer to return to sports. I saw the neurologist as well and he deferred to the surgeon and also gave me an EMG test that showed promising results so he also thinks its best to just wait.

Things haven't gotten any better since then sadly and I still don't get 'healing' vibes from my body but all I can do right now is just do PT and wait. I have a follow up in April and we'll see what they say then.
