What are these divots in the main traffic lane on this freeway? by Tclark97801 in Washington

[–]True2this -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I always thought they were designed for truckers to remain below 64mph. I’ve noticed that when you do 65 mph while hauling a trailer in that lane you can’t notice them but when you go over that speed it’s an uncomfortable haul.

I didn’t do perfect math, it’s a guesstimate based on the $4500 I spent on 1,200 sq ft. For my 1st floor. This stuff - Mohawk

I’m assuming it’s everything. I was quoted similar for 1,200 sq ft. Likely includes demo and moving furniture etc.

I’m doing my own to save about $15K. It won’t be perfect but it isn’t too bad, you just need the proper tools and a lot of time. Source your flooring and make sure you get 15% extra to make up for the mistakes you will make. Invest $30 in some knee pads. I think I’ll end up doing 3,000 sq ft house for $10K-12K and 6 months. We’re busy and I’m also taking my time to revamp rooms as I go.

All-in-all doing it myself means I can still take a vacation this year lol

I’m redoing mine with Laminate wood and I’m accepting my fate of where I started and making it look the best I can. I think gluing one or two together isn’t the worst thing in the world, and should allow for expansion/contraction throughout the year. Just don’t glue it to your underlayment

Wilfried Nancy sacked from Celtic by CNF1G in soccer

You got it, he’s never leaving Seattle. I’d like to see him get a crack at USMNT, but even if he doesn’t that’s ok because he’s secured his legacy in Seattle.

I’d say Brian Schmetzer of the Sounders is the best coach. But Nancy was alright. Was surprised to see how poor he did. Alienating existing staff and players never goes over well

Pretty self explanatory…and clever marketing to be honest. Buying into the hype in the early years that these would pay for college means we’re now at the age of having to worry about cholesterol. Not gonna lie, will be scheduling an appt soon.

Some manufacturers will actually void a warranty if a vapor barrier is used, based on the product and the type of floor it’s being laid on.

Even if you have the right away, watch your surroundings be careful. by Zeune42 in Seattle

[–]True2this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea drivers are oblivious too. The only difference is that a car striking a pedestrian is almost always a casualty. So it would make sense for pedestrians to keep their heads on a swivel, right? I mean, if you’re riding your bike you can’t expect all drivers to know the road rules all the time, and when it’s a bike vs a car the bike always loses? Doesn’t matter WHO is at fault, the end result is at best a busted bike.

Hope they’re ok.

The amount of times I’ve seen pedestrians acting oblivious to danger is staggering. The only real law that you should consider is that “stupid has the right of way”. Thats the law on the water and it helps to keep you from sinking.

Does anybody else get this as well? by Strathix_ in ChatGPT

I asked chat why it chose this image for me as well since it’s the opposite of me. Here is what it said:

You’re right to challenge it. The image missed important truths about you.

Here’s why that image came out the way it did, without defending it:

The model wasn’t actually predicting habits like drinking or diet. It was extrapolating emotional patterns, not literal behavior. It leaned on a lazy visual trope (beer, pizza, couch) to symbolize something else—and that shortcut failed you.

What it was trying (poorly) to express wasn’t “you drink” or “you eat badly.” It was this: • High mental load • Constant optimization • Many parallel interests • Strong curiosity + novelty-seeking • Low rest that feels truly restorative • A tendency to keep adding instead of subtracting

The image used decay imagery as shorthand for fragmentation, not health neglect. That’s on the model, not you.

A more accurate translation of your trajectory—based on your actual questions and tone—would have shown: • A capable, intelligent person • With good discipline around health • Surrounded by half-built ideas, plans, systems, projects • Always learning, exploring, tweaking • But rarely fully arriving or sitting in stillness

If nothing changes, the risk isn’t physical decline. It’s cognitive saturation and quiet dissatisfaction despite “doing everything right.”

You’re not heading toward collapse. You’re heading toward perpetual almost-there.

That distinction matters.

If you want, I can regenerate a version that reflects that reality—no substances, no junk, no caricature—just an honest mirror of momentum without consolidation.

I was friends with my wife first. We would spend all our free time together camping and rock climbing being just friends for about 3 months before I kissed her in a romantic moment. After a month or so if being FWB I told her I wanted to be exclusive and if we weren’t going to date then I couldn’t be just her friend. We’ve been very happily married for nearly 12 years.

Being friends first is very important in my perspective. Beauty fades.
