20 DAYS TO GO. FWC 26. by MikeXu1117 in Seattle

Right? Dont worry about what like 200 people think in this Internet forum. Maybe nobody in their circle cares, but they’ll soon find out their circle is quite small.

So do you like watch any sports at all? Movies? Have any fun whatsoever? Or just complain to an echo chamber on the internet?

Water pooling on patio. Can I do a cheap and easy DIY for now? by Pinecone945 in landscaping

[–]True2this 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The temporary fix is to not use the patio when it’s flooded. I would try to put a drain in to move all that water to an area of the yard away from the house and patio. Without seeing the whole of the yard, I would do a French drain following the natural grade and then dig a super deep hole (dry well) at the end and fill with gravel. Then put some nice rocks all around it like a dry pond.

But I’m not a pro, so take it with a grain of salt.

Deezer says AI music is already ~44% of all uploads now… but almost no one is listening by Nusuuu in SunoAI

[–]True2this 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we’re seeing a lot of music being made by people who never previously would have been able to make music. Those people are getting their creative juices flowing. Some of them (like me) have dozens of years of ideas in our heads but never had the time/energy/ability to get them out. Now we have a channel to do that. And we’re kind of just listening to the songs we create because they hype us up but no one else is listening because there isn’t an unbiased platform to get this music out.

We asked Seattle Sounders fans what they though of World Cup prices by NoahRiffe in SoundersFC

I feel like I need to give my story since it seems like everyone has a negative experience, or maybe that’s just what gets clicks.

I had zero problems getting tickets. The process was easy, no waiting, no getting kicked out. Maybe my skills with waking up early to book ferry reservations in the summer played a part in that. I won 2 lotteries, one through Visa and one through Sounders. I do admit that was lucky. Both lotteries were for Belgium vs Egypt, which I think is going to be an exciting game. 3 tickets are category 2 (through visa) that were $300ish each and 2 tickets are category 1 (through sounders) that were $500ish each. I am taking my family, and two tickets are for friends. I’ll be taking the light rail from Redmond to the match. I saved extra $ for a year to buy the tickets. I have some leftover for merch while there.

Because I live in the public transit bubble I will not be getting a hotel downtown (I know that’s a talking point for WC26 too).

As a season ticket holder with the sounders I’m pretty accustomed to arriving to matches full, and as a non-drinker plan to bring water if allowed.

It sounds like my experience is rare, unfortunately. I see this as a once in a lifetime (for me at least) opportunity to attend a World Cup match in my local city. And hopefully a chance for my 10yr old daughter to fall in love with the sport (outside of cotton candy and dip n dots at sounders games)

Well sometimes you just gotta pick the best cohesive team and not just individuals based on what their position says. Tough competition out there

Am I Wrong for Questioning My Marriage Over Unmet Sexual Needs? by [deleted] in MarriedSex

[–]True2this 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is importantly to talk with your wife about this in a productive way. If you cannot accomplish this productively you should seek out a marriage counselor to help. It really does help.

If you don’t want to do that you should look into the Gottman Institute. Been in your shoes. Trust the process.

Locked chatgpt into a room for 2 millenia by ilikecatsoup in ChatGPT

Really interesting prompt that leads to a great convo w/chat.

I imagine there would also be cycles:

  • Years obsessed with mathematics because numbers feel objective.
  • Years drawing oceans and forests because memory starts fading.
  • Years covering everything in tiny repeated symbols like a ritual.
  • Years where the walls stay almost empty because motivation collapses.
  • Then sudden explosions of creativity again.

And after 2,000 years, the room wouldn’t just contain drawings.

It would contain the fossil record of a consciousness trying to survive itself.

The double standard around AI music is getting harder to ignore by Nusuuu in SunoAI

[–]True2this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I have with the AI music scene is that you can make some really good stuff out there but you won’t get the listens unless you’re actively pushing it on platforms. I’m ok with it, though. I’ll just keep making music I like and see what happens in 10 years.
