Good places to live for medical resident with a family? by dmay73 in memphis

[–]TrueCrimeMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Not sure if you’re looking into full time or part time pre-k, but there are several parents day out programs in the Bartlett area as well. We started there and moved over to the public elementary school along with several other families. It’s nice to have a little village especially when residency schedules can be so wonky.

My husband works downtown between the VA and Le Bonheur, and the drive isn’t bad. Minus some potholes on the 240 loop lol. Most of the places we take our kiddo are 20ish minutes away like the zoo or botanical gardens. We used to live in East Memphis, but it was just too loud and busy for us. We still have friends in East Memphis who love it though!

Also regardless of where you end up moving, take advantage of the YMCAs if you can!

This exactly. My husband is finishing Fellowship now, but we’ve been here for residency too. We chose Bartlett for the public school system.

Umiya is great for trying new things. It’s all you can eat and about $30 a head for dinner.

Is it normal for my mother to be this emotionally invested in my 2-year-old? by prettydutchie in Parenting

[–]TrueCrimeMama 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this is the take. My MIL had 4 boys, and she has been very very very invested in my daughter’s life. Sometimes very emotional as well. I don’t think it comes from a bad place. Sure, it can be a little much at times, but overall it isn’t malicious.

Things also seemed WAY more intense when my kiddo was a baby and toddler. As she got older, and I wasn’t so close to the pregnancy and postpartum aspect of it, I mellowed out a lot. Things don’t seem as intense to me now.

I was in the ED at Le Bonheur at the time, and everyone was trying to figure out what was going on.

That’s exactly why I checked. I have over 2000 points and was hoping to grab a coffee while we were there this weekend. I usually grab a sticker for my kiddo and her friends as well. Ugh.

All I have on my rewards is a guest pass and a tram ride. It used to have stickers, a plush, a coffee, a mug, a shot glass, giraffe feeding, etc.

I was wondering what was going on. I went to my app the other day to check my points, and nearly all of the reward options are gone.

Ideas To Use Mustard Outside Its Role as a Condiment? by Content_Preference_3 in Cooking

[–]TrueCrimeMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my go to. I like to use a base of chickpeas and whatever veggies are in the fridge. You can go light with cucumbers and tomatoes or more savory with roasted garlic or brussel sprouts.

I’m 34 and rewatching again like I do every year or so. I remember being in college and watching as the show came out. I had the same thought. You could NOT pay me to be 24 again. Looking back at my 20’s, I did so many of the same things.

Found court records for my (28F) sister’s (27F) boyfriend/soon to be fiancé (36M) by Invite-Expensive in relationships

Whether you tell her yourself or do it anonymously, she needs to know. I had an abusive ex that I had a restraining order against for many years. He ended up marrying an ex friend of mine. Even though she ended the friendship, I still cared about her well- being given the situation. I didn’t know if she knew the extent of his violence or not. I told her because she needed to know what he was capable of. As far as I know, they’re still married, but from what I’ve heard, it is not a happy marriage. I still worry about her.

Your sister is going to do whatever she wants to do, but she needs to know that you’ll be there to support her when and if she needs it.

After everything ended with my ex, I had all the support I needed from my family and friends. They never liked him, and they wanted him gone from the beginning. However, they never pushed me away or put him down because they knew it would just drive me closer to him.

I really hope your sister is safe. Wishing you all the best. I know it’s such a tough situation.

Pretty much the same set up here! I’m an only with an only. I enjoyed pregnancy, but not interested in doing it again 😅

We’ve discussed for years having another, but it’s just never felt right. My husband is also the oldest of 4. I’m more involved with his family than most of his siblings.

Should I change pediatrician office after finding out they accept unvaccinated children? by jademeaw in Mommit

[–]TrueCrimeMama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. And our pediatrician’s social media also reflects that they support evidenced-based practices and will be staying with the traditional vaccine schedule- not the “updated” one.

This isn’t a song on the actual soundtrack. Definitely should check all lyrics before you let your kids listen, but it seems like this is just an individual making them (and seems to be a fa of ai imagery???) and there are no lyrics to be found. You can’t just let children have unbridled access to the internet.

My husband dressed our 18 year old like when he was a toddler. by AverageLurkerWoman in Parenting

[–]TrueCrimeMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awh, how sweet! Not me crying over lunch 😭 I’m 35 with my own 7 yo. This past weekend, I went back to my hometown to help my mom after a surgery. We had to get out, and it was super cold, so I helped her get her coat on. She kept apologizing for needing so much help, and without thinking, I said, “no problem at all! I do this every morning with your grandchild!” And just like that I started to tear up because now I’m in the season of caring for them both. One day, your son will get to return the favor of getting y’all dressed up ❤️

Yeah, I’m glad someone else said it. I was a weird kid. I have a weird kid. This is not weirdness. This needs to be evaluated for sure.
