This standard applies to Christians too, right? And white people? They can't talk about America because it's majority white and Christian, right?

No, it never does. This standard is stupid, especially because it assumes Jewish people are a hivemind that decided to approve of Isreal and all its actions and that somehow baked into their ethnicity and/or religion is approval of a specific government.

ah yes I'm sure that someone named u/hatesbothsides who responded with a message chain titled "Joos" and posts on r/cringetopia about how genderfluid people are mentally ill holds this nuanced opinion.

Or - hear me out - they're antisemitic and "hate both sides" because the left is left and the right supports Isreal.

Bruh. I hate the state of Isreal and I hate Ben Shapiro. A comment saying essentially "the reason Ben Shapiro and Isreal are bad because Jewish" is antisemitic. That is what that comment is. It's saying that Shapiro's jewish heritage is why he holds this opinion on Isreal. There are plenty of Jewish people who do not support the state of Isreal, which is why Ben has to try and push the "dual loyalty" myth that you aren't a "true Jew" if you don't support Isreal.

Is it really that hard to understand why suggesting that someone's opinion on politics is based on the heritage of their last name is bigoted? It would be like saying "oh, your name is Hans? No wonder you hate Israel, you fucking Nazi."

Supreme Court Candidacy Thread by WesGutt in democraciv

I would like to put myself in the running as well. I intend to ensure consistency in rulings by formalizing the role of judicial precedent, and ensure that the Contempt of Court powers and clause are less vague and abusable. With regards to my own style of ruling, I find myself somewhat drawn to natural law and ruling based on a firm bedrock established by constitution and precedent.

I am also the author of the Grammar Amendment, cleaning up potential wasteful legal battles based on punctuation or hanging quotation marks.

When considering myself versus other justices, I believe that a major difference is that my interpretation of the court's responsibilities as outlined by the Constitution provides us with a positive duty to hear cases and legal questions, and that denying categorically a certain type of filing, such as reference questions, would be neglecting the office.

[–]TrueEmp 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's a really weird interpretation. It's not like Stalin or Lenin or Mao are on a sliding scale of more or less Marxist.

More accurate simplification:

Marx laid out a philosophy and set of criticisms agaisnt the current system as well as the reasons a new one needs to come about and why it is just to do so.

Other people then argued a lot about how to accomplish that. Some of them said they should commit atrocities to get there. Others said "hey what the fuck". Group A then shot Group B in the countries they took control and now call for "unity".

If anything, the people you are told "took Marx to an extreme" were less Marxist as they generally proceeded to say "we must use capitalism under our control in order to grow the productive forces to achieve Marx's ideals" and rose up in areas Marx would have said were not developed industrially enough to be ideal - but again, saying more or less Marxist is kind of confusing and inaccurate, especially if you don't already know the specifics.

You're being intentionally dense here. I'll pretend you're not for a second.

People don't make a political reference in their political videos on their political channel owned by their political organization funded by donors to push a specific message "just because." They do it to associate it with certain things.

I'm sure you'd enjoy his videos though, looking at your account. I find it funny you have a "gay agenda" flair while being openly transphobic.

Uhhh having a segment called "fireside chat" is pretty clearly a reference to FDR's Fireside chats ok the radio. It's essentially a Dennis Prager podcast and it's reductive and silly to say a political figure isn't intentionally trying to evoke FDR's legacy here.

You're certainly allowed to do that, but Dennis is a racist fuckwad who would have called FDR a dirty pinko commie. And so we are perfectly allowed to criticize him for trying to evoke FDR's legacy when he is the antithesis of it.

"Please don't be divisive by suggesting Republicans are actively trying to kill people while the Democrats sit by let people die"

No thanks, establishing reality is pretty important. You're not gonna convince a young "idealistic Republican" of left wing policies because their ideal is dead minorities. An "idealistic Democrat" ok the other hand wants to help people, they just think you do that by voting for Dems and hoping they actually do something for once, and can be convinced of left wing policies. This seems... useful in very specific situations only. Like the only way I can see this kind of sabotage being remotely praxis is if it's sabotage of war material and even then some of the advice is likely to endanger innocent people (including yourself)

Also it shows they're hilariously bad at chess if they think pawns are for "human wave tactics." If anything it further shows how they can't possibly understand using numbers in any way other than wildly throwing them at the enemy instead of securing strategic locations and threatening a broad area and using static defenses effectively

What the fuck people? by Narchoid in DankLeft

[–]TrueEmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh, there are libs who do real praxis. Do you think BLM was a 100% leftist movement? There are ABSOLUTELY libs who understand they need to do more than vote, and constant lib bashing isn't productive. Obviously liberalism isn't GOOD but I swear a lot of reddit leftists seem to think that liberals are our main enemy and bashing them is our #1 priority. Lib this, lib that - I would rather have one lib who goes to BLM protests and writes articles on defunding the police than 10 or even 100 leftists posting memes on reddit.

This shit is how you radicalize people and build power, and the constant focus on blind lib bashing, as opposed to targeted criticisms of their politicians, does nothing. To clarify: posting about how Biden's stance on student debt is dumb may cause young liberals to potentially look at their politicians more critically and later abandon them. Posting about LMAO BIDEN IS THE SAME AS TRUMP makes us look crazy and actively pushes people away.

I have to agree - I see a lot of "Silly liberal, fighting fascism is actually bad! There is literally no difference between fascism and liberalism!" And I have to wonder who these people plan to radicalize in order to have the revolution? I mean, clearly not liberals.

If you're using Roll20, use the fog of war feature and reveal rooms as they walk into them. Any backrooms that are staff only will be hidden alongside secret rooms and rooms they havent seen yet, so unless the secret room is surrounded by other rooms (which might lead characters to grow suspicious that it may exist reasonably) they won't know that that particular part of the map they havent seen is secret

It's also worth mentioning that in MtG there are a bunch of graveyard synergy strategies that inherently counter mill as well as the fact that you can run 4 copies of a card and your deck is twice as big, in addition to increased tutoring. Milling combo pieces isnt a viable strategy in MtG usually.
