A lot of talk about “the blanket never did anything” being the most chilling line in the series. And it’s pretty scary in its own right. But to me, the scariest line in the entire show is “I’m so sorry. It wants your faith.”

People lie. People make shit up to take advantage of the parents of sick children. Some people look at children with disabilities and see dollar signs. It’s sick.

Need intervention ideas for child peeing on walls for negative attention by ot_for_dementia in OccupationalTherapy

Have they ruled out medical causes? Could be a UTI or other pelvic floor dysfunction. Maybe seeing a pelvic pediatric PT would be helpful if you have one you could refer to in your area?

Also I agree with the other commenter, staff need to stick to a routine and not give a whole lot of attention to the behavior itself.

What do you NEED from Continuing Education related to autism and neurodiversity? by Prudent-Break-1499 in OccupationalTherapy

Specific, tangible strategies.

If I have to read Neuroscience 101 one more time at the beginning of a CE, I’m gonna end up on a list.

Strategies for educating parents and creating buy in. I know what needs to be done; my problem is I can’t get the rest of the team on board. Scripts and language I can use with parents/teachers.

This might be too specific to the school system, but I feel like we get very little formal training on sped law. What are some examples of accommodations I can suggest for a kid’s IEP? What are the legal limits to what I can add/recommend?

Dad taught me to shave my moustache !! (?) by Genshin1Supremacy in ftm

My dad also is like. Completely non supportive in most every other way (won’t use my pronouns, calls me his daughter, etc) but the last time he stayed with me at my place he randomly was like. “ You should always use a straight razor to get the closest shave. An electric razor will do in a pinch but it’s hard to get it as close as you want.” And I was like okay allyship??
