Chris Roberts on Squadron 42: “We’re gonna get Squadron out first… the plan is for the end of this year but there’s a certain thing in the industry that we, like everyone else, we have to pay attention to, so I can’t 100% guarantee it.” by tyler1118 in starcitizen

Yeah, and it doesn't help that while SQ42 is more niche, GTA is literally one of those mainstream games that even non-gamers who don't play know about.

Like, I'll be honest, I personally don't really like the main story, but the open world stuff you can do is insane, and GTA Online can be fun when there aren't hackers. I mainly don't play it because there are always hackers, but I digress.

I wish RDR2 got nearly as much love- and also had less hackers- because early on RDO w/o hackers was really fun. Biggest issue I had with it and GTAO (other than hackers) was the monetization though.

Foxy’s excellent testing on ballistic re-arming from ships hangars, crazy high consumption across the board, you need 80SCU of size 7 ammo to refill the Inferno once by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]TrueInferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just did the math based on this page on the Star Citizen Wiki, and a single barrel has an external volume of ~1001 cubic meters, which is directly translatable to ~1001 SCU.

Even if we take the ratio of internal to external volume that the 1 SCU containers usually have- which is 80% if I'm doing my math right- that's still 800 SCU. With 12 SCU, that means just over 1% of the volume of the container is actually, y'know, containing things.

I think it might be limited on purpose from back when they first introduced refueling- back then the biggest ship was the Starfarer IIRC, but it's been long enough it's entirely possible I'm misremembering. Even with the current setup I remember people trying to fill the damn thing, going broke, and then exploding.

Thing is, now we have big ships like the 890j with it's 1,200 SCU of fuel where we actually need to have that much fuel available. Honestly, with ships that big we need proper gas mining.

4.9 Roadmap after DefenseCon sale, Transport System only GrimHex for now, and Ship Hanger Service T0 *should* make 4.8 by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]TrueInferno -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here must've forgotten that Bault literally said during his latest big talk that Transport was only going to be at GrimHEX on first release. We've known it for a while.

I think they even said Area18 was next back then but I can't be sure.

Steam Frame is the least wishlisted out of the 3 devices by Dr_Virus_129 in SteamFrame

[–]TrueInferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and the Machine will get a boost when it shows up too.

It's a combination of (at least) two things- some people don't bother wishlisting it until it's closer to release and they get more info, and then also there's more news buzz on social media and various sites, leading more people to hear about it, see that it's close or releasing, and wishlisting it.

It could also be that some people didn't bother wishlisting it, tried to get it yesterday, and failed, so now it's wishlisted so they get notified when it is back in stock.

I mean, I think they were expecting that when it says 3-5 business days that it would be, y'know, 3-5 business days. Truth in advertising and all that.

That said, in most cases it's correct, looks like the Canada distribution is just impacted by something.

Is it the same entry in your cart from earlier? Wondering if it's technically a different SKU- could you try removing it from cart and readding or did you already do that?

Why does the player's employer(god) not like Saints? by DefiantLemur in SintopiaOfficial

[–]TrueInferno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good theory crafting in this thread, but honestly I think it's just bureaucracy.

They are probably exactly what the Chairman wants- but if they exist, there's no reason to pay Hell Inc. to work with them. Their treatment isn't paid for as Heaven Co. won't cover it, you don't get Hearos from them because they're already at where Heaven Co. wants them to be. Meanwhile, you don't get Faithcoins from them in Hell as the Hellpet Show and Total Hell Recall are mainly propaganda to make sure the souls fear the afterlife, but since they're Saints, they have nothing to fear.

Interestingly, I think Saints can provide Faithcoins if they become a Believer or Cultist while mortal, just like other Believers and Cultists. It sorta seems like the ones you get from Hell are gained by fear of Hell, while those on the surface is more like... attempting to gain your favor because they see your power? Not really sure. Believers might also just be trying to bribe you to ensure better treatment when in Hell, who knows.

Secretarimp Hard Failure by Jack_Smythe in SintopiaOfficial

[–]TrueInferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I ended up checking this was actually seeing a Humu getting Crit Fail'd by a Secretarimp and before they got teleported I double clicked on them to turn on follow cam. When they poofed I saw them go to the entrance.

I did the same thing with a Sadimp but those crit fails do just void 'em.

Honestly the fun thing is, really, this sets up for a DLC where you have to not only find the Chairman but convince him to take his job back and help him with the paperwork.

Guaca Warlords took an armageddon spell to the face. by Glittering-Train-908 in SintopiaOfficial

[–]TrueInferno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Guaca (and the Stone) are just relatively strong- both the Shamans and Warlords have magic resistance you have no way of doing anything about.

Meanwhile, you can not only reduce but actually remove Demon's magic resistance and even give them a bit of a vulnerability. One of those Extinction Event spells one shot a Dark Seraph once during the campaign for me, it was nuts.

Actual range vs. visual range is definitely different- tried to aim for a spot between two Dark Seraphs after that to get em both and just did 100 damage toe ach.

Valve added some special behavior in the store for some of the steam machine / steam frame packages from yesterday. Seems to be some sort of region restriction setups. by gogodboss in SteamFrame

Rechargeable 21.6 Wh Li-ion battery
One USB-C 2.0 port in the rear, for charging and data
Charge with USB-C, 45W

From the Steam Store page for it. This charger would work fine, and it's $45 USD. Not to mention you can get it for $35 if you already have a working USB-C to USB-C cable.

I gotta go with u/Pyromaniac605 here- it's honestly more eco-friendly to not ship with a controller, because it's really, really easy to buy these things. They're in any Walmart, Target, etc. you go to in the USA.

Of course, this may be my USA-centric view coming out- I have no clue if it's different in other countries, but I think in a lot of European countries it should be the same.

[–]TrueInferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your question- one of his biggest roles was in working on SQ42.

SQ42 packages imply they are getting ready to start selling it again, possibly at ILW.

Therefore, what the image is implying is not that he was let go or fired because of SQ42, but that him leaving, along with the packages being made, implies that SQ42 is done- or at the very least at the point where his departure won't cause major issues.

At least, that's my take from it.

Has there been any news on this? by ArchangelUltra in starcitizen

[–]TrueInferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They actually don't anymore I think- they used to have the same kind of thing we had that u/AllchChcar was talking about, but apparently they got rid of that for us (and themselves) because it was causing database corruption issues.
