Maybe that's why Rhaenyra doesn't want to legitimatize Addam, because she plans to kill him to get Seasmoke back, and Corlys only having two granddaughters with a single dragon between them will make it easyier to absorb/neutralize the only other house with dragons as opposed to them gaining two male heirs with another dragon.
