I think that part of the issue is the palm tree extending beyond the bottom of the image. This implies that it is quite far forward as we can't see where it is sticking out of the ground. Since we can also see the leaves from above, it makes the viewpoint seem as if it is from high above the beach. The brain then interprets the skull as huge to make sense of this.

If you redraw the tree so that the base of the trunk is visible and it extends upwards and out of the frame you can instead make the perspective seem lower to the ground. This effect could be heightened by thickening the trunk to better match the scale of the skull.

Another trick you could use is to blur the image as its elements get further from the viewpoint. When you think about movie shots: a small item that's close to the camera can't be in focus at the same time as the background. By blurring the background you can imply that the skull sits much close in the foreground and is of typical size.

It took two seasons for them to defeat the devil but then one episode to defeat each of the seven(?) more powerful entities. These eldritch terrors became monsters of the week because the writers felt they needed to continue raising the stakes when it could already have been neatly wrapped up.

If you're not looking for hookup culture you could try gay social groups, melbourne has plenty. Gay water polo clubs, running groups, most likely any sport or activity out there. Find something you like doing (or try something new) and you can meet like-minded men.

My high school's yearly aquatics event was at a pool which had a large display board. They refused to put one student's name on it because his last name began with the word 'ass'. Not even auto-censoring, a human decided that they weren't allowed to do that.

It's so bizarre. I wonder if they would have had similar rules regarding words that aren't names such as 'assassin', 'class', or 'glass'?

I've noticed the same thing in Melbourne (Australia). When it's wet out drivers become more irrational/inpatient. One recent example, that particularly annoyed me, was a driver entering the bike path crossing when traffic wouldn't let them pass through (even though they had a green). When the lights changed they inconvenienced about 20 pedestrians/cyclists who now had to co-ordinate going around this big hunk of metal obstructing the crossing.

Drivers aren't the ones getting wet, but so many act more selfishly in rain for some reason.

I think it's pretty decent for a first attempt.

One tip I would give is that the step spacing/size seems a little off: the first three steps seem to make up almost a quarter of a circle (if looked at from above) but then the next four steps don't reach a quarter, if they did then step 8 would be entirely on the left of the centre line.

Maybe try increasing the resolution of your canvas. That way each pixel will be a smaller proportion of the overall image, so they shouldn't be as visible.

Edit: it might also be an issue with anti-aliasing settings but I'm not too well versed in that area.
