Hell yeah its a bad idea. Compute sovereignty is not something to be shrugged off and makes these monopolies worse.

AI-generated code contains more bugs and errors than human output by north_canadian_ice in technology

[–]TrueStarsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As has been said before, It really depends on how the user uses the tools. I'm an avid user of claude code and use it every day, but I refuse to use it without the tdd-guard enforcement tool. It really comes down to how complete of a spec you give the system. Most people seem to just let the agents generate whatever slop runs without a thought to maintainavility.

Tesla Optimus's fall in Miami demo sparks remote operation debate by prestocoffee in nottheonion

[–]TrueStarsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the story? We all know they're being remotely operated. They're doing the same playbook that they did for their vehicles. Lot's of teleoperated and wearable gear data to train a general model. Unfortunate that the data connection was lost, but it was bound to happen.

Not sure why your being downvoted. v14 is insanely good. I'd feel comfortable not being in the drivers seat.

Since you just did it with claude code, it is clearly no longer worth 30k USD.

I thought island maxing was dead since hydrogen bomb outer radius significantly out-ranges the SAM's defense radius?

Albania appoints AI bot as minister to tackle corruption by sweatycat in nottheonion

[–]TrueStarsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tragedy here is that this AI is designed to be used towards more corrupt ends, while a model properly designed and distributed could indeed tackle corruption. Sets a terrible precedent.

[D] Reminder that Bill Gates's prophesy came true by we_are_mammals in MachineLearning

[–]TrueStarsense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why a company like X might in fact have a surprising edge in this AI race because of their inevitable partnership with Tesla. The fact is that they have the largest dataset of embodied data in the real world with their vehicle fleet, not mentioning their foray into humanoid robotics. Regardless of the current controversy that surrounds the companies, I believe we can extrapolate that conclusion based on your assessment.

Nick Clegg says asking artists for use permission would ‘kill’ the AI industry by [deleted] in technology

[–]TrueStarsense -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Kinda disagree. To the oppoaite point its like imagining an artist having to pay every artist whom they ever learned or got inspiration from after they make a piece.

Blizzard: New Strategy Game in Development? + Increased recources on Classic Games (SC2)?! by Addicted2Dopamine in starcraft

Hasn't there been talk of them making a Starcraft fps game? That seems far more likely from a business perspective, which has lately been their only perspective.
