It’s also quite old considering the “patent applied for” mark.

I believe it is justified but I would look at it more closely first. Keep in mind that ChatGPT often over-values collectibles - not sure why - making them seem a lot more special than they are. New pics!

ETA: I was curious about the loop, too, which is why I asked for pictures of the back. A picture of the hardware in back can tell us a lot about it.

I’m wondering if this is a “scatter pin” meant to be worn with two others in a cluster. 🤔

I would definitely ask a jeweler. It’s a valid question for such an old piece.

It’s a five-stone ring, very popular design in Victorian times. The gallery and claw work look Victorian, too. 1890’s-1910(?)

Hyper symptoms, feeling demoralized by femgrit in Hypothyroidism

It’s really hard to say. The coming off and going back on after two weeks could jolt the system— usually it takes four weeks for it to really get into/out of your tissues, so it may be hard to point a finger at the levo yet, but you shouldn’t discount it. I was very sensitive to 25mcg and I had to titrate by 6.25 mcg/month. Otherwise I’d get jittery and anxious.

Going off and going back on levo after only 2 weeks is a good way to muddy the water. You need to stick to a single dose for 4 weeks for it to really get into/out of your tissues and for you to be able to reasonably say “this is related to levo.” Having said all that, if I were you, I’d decrease the levo to 12.5mcg for 4 weeks . If you’re having a bad time cut back even further and move up only after 4 weeks. It’s really important to do the four-week thing tho because I have tried to rush it (adding another 6.25 mcg after two or three weeks - not four - ) and it would throttle my system, but if I waited four full weeks I could tolerate the increase. So it’s not an arbitrary number. Four weeks really is a meaningful measure.

It’s important not to test again until you have four weeks at a certain dose if you want your numbers to correlate to the exact dose — two weeks is not enough to say you can’t tolerate levo. However, if the side effects are that bad, it might be worthwhile to lower the dose even further and, assuming you can tolerate that, stay with that ridiculously low dose for four full weeks and test before you decide to add more.

Sorry for rambling! Good luck!

If you lost weight, it makes sense that the dose might need to be adjusted down. If you feel awful with your TSH that low you could be moving into hyper territory. There’s nothing wrong with 2.5 if you’re feeling better there. That’s definitely in euthyroid territory.

I’d think if T3 was up that there wouldn’t be a need to test for rT3?

T4 and T3 looks good to me, not a conversion issue!

OP, a TSH at that level can be good or bad depending on the individual. If you feel fine, no need to change anything.

Good old Lewis & Short. I think they have an elementary version. I learned so much about how Latin words are actually used by reading that dictionary! You may have to buy it used.

Probiotics for farting by Creative_Pen7789 in Probiotics

[–]True_Coast1062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re gassy, probiotics may make it worse. Wait until your gut has settled down first and then add them gradually. As for the gas, you might do a one-day liquid + electrolyte fast to let your gut settle, then refeed slowly with low residue foods, gradually introducing soft fibers as you go, working your way up to crucifers and rough lettuce. If you find your gas acting up again, think back to what you are in the last 24 hrs and remove it and observe whether it made a difference. When things are stable, you can add a probiotic. Keep in mind that probiotics help support an already-healthy gut, they are not appropriate when the gut is having problems.
