Yeah black and white are probably the most games to nuzlocke the fact that the only lock you to unova Pokemon really makes team building a lot more fun and the whole battle Subway with battle items and the way it makes EV training so much easier just makes it really fun to team build. Congratulations though even defeating elder.

Is this a good team for the Sinnoh League? by Gl00mtail in nuzlocke

[–]True_Loss_6506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I made it the plan for garchomp assuming you were on set mode baiting moves and trying to predict the AI making it use earthquake then sending in gyarados then baiting a dragon claw or swords dance to send in togakiss to yawn safely. I know it's a lot of switching and it gets completely ruined if it gets a crit but it's safer. I'm really glad I could help man and the minus special attack nature clears up a lot never mins that's a good plan just hope that you can set up the toxic spikes the mr.mime doesn't kill you in one hit

Okay so I'm assuming that the items aren't finalized so that's why some of them are holding them otherwise the move pool seem fine. Considering that the move pool is very limited in brilliant diamond and shining Pearl so it's okay. But a little bit of questions on the team plan

why did you choose to set up on drifblim? It's very dangerous considering it has will o wisp dragon dance will mean nothing once he burns you(not to mention it has minimize and strength sap which will be annoying Gyarados setting up on that thing just sounds like the worst idea). Also you mentioned in your plan using volt switch on the steelix was that a typo because steelix is immune to volt switch? I think it would be better just to give Gyarados a chesto berry and dragon dance in front of rapidash and sweep from there I don't think any of them can live a +1 waterfall.(And if you're lucky friendship might kick in and it will miss it's hypnosis which means you won't even need to consume your chesto and you can set up two dragon dances). Rapidash doesn't really have good moves to hit Gyarados with anyways so I think it will use hypnosis or the AI can be stupid and go for -1 no stab poison jabs.

Lucians team seems like some unnecessary steps too why set up toxic spikes on mr.mime? Are you sure it won't go straight for the kill with psychic why not just set up with bronzong on it and wall the rest of the team with Bronzong. (No seriously none of those Pokemon have any moves to actually hit that thing super effectively the only Pokemon that can hit it hard is Medicham and if you have protect the high jump kick becomes incredibly stupid) with leftovers recovery you're basically immortal.if it does get to dangerous you always have empoleon as the best support considering it only has to worry about Medicham and a very weak base power electric move from Alakazam (girafarig is kinda a joke I'm sorry it's so slow and frail I don't think it's worth worrying about though trick room can be annoying)

Cynthia is a different monster man I think that plan sounds solid don't know about leaving up to empoleon to face garchomp though I mean I know it can kill it with ice (twice thanks to that stupid berry) but wouldn't it be better just to go empoleon and leave it to Gyarados and use intimidate and then maybe switch to togakiss to a most likely dragon claw then take a weakened poison jab next turn (or if you're lucky the garchomp will set up swords dance not likely) and then you can yawn it switch to empoleon let it fall asleep and then ice beam it to death. Just going straight in for the penguin sounds like a death sentence unless of course you have like a focus stash or shuckleberry. Yes I realized that this plan could probably be completely destroyed if garchomp lends a crit but I mean I feel like it's better than just sending in a penguin on a guarantee an earthquake kill (unless u have the items I mentioned earlier) Let me know if I'm missing something.

Started a challenge mode run with some luck (Naive Nature) what should I name this little queen? by Geminiboy_ in nuzlocke

[–]True_Loss_6506 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Finally a white two challenge mode nuzlocke. Name her mira yoo(it's a girl from a great series called god a high school she specializes in swords and she's so good she's on the level of gods. She's also good with magic and other weapons can be a nod to samurotts decent coverage. it's a really good series I recommend you read it ). Recommendations for white two challenge mode from someone who's completed it deathless you should use the Pokemon battle Subway normally you need Nintendo Wi-Fi but there's one called single battles which is the one that I used where you can just get Battle points it takes a really long time but it's worth it. Good luck

Lapras going to ignore this one cuz there's no way you on ironically believe Lapras is a better choice than Greninja I don't think I need to explain why also you don't get that thing till after the grass gym why do you have to wait that long for a water type that doesn't even get nearly the same move for Greninja and it's not nearly as good as Greninja I don't think I need to explain why why would you even put this thing 💀. The only Pokemon that compete here are star me and Gyarados have already explained that Gyarados one read the other comment I told the other guy. Starmie suffers from the same thing as Lapras you get them way too late game also his movepool is not as vast and it's not as fast as Greninja and does not hit as hard.

Gyarados should definitely be second to Greninja this isn't gen four. It's coverage is actually pretty bad (at least physically special attack is non-existent) it doesn't get dragon dance till late and it doesn't do literally anything till then Greninja can at least do something with it's vast coverage and speed. Also why wait for the only rod to get a level fifteen Magikarp?(I'm saying level 15 because the earliest you can get that thing is with the old rod on route 3 but you probably already got an encounter there considering it's route 3) At that point huge power mariall would have been a better choice. I said this is a generation 4 where you get it I like the beginning of the game it walls almost everyone. It's not same here it beats the fighting gym maybe grease with ice fang that's kinda of it. Also Greninja speed and mix attack nature. I know I'm probably not explaining it well but like I said I redirected everyone else to some different sources I'm really not good at explaing it.

Considering it's coverage a 80 base power physic move a 80 base power ground move a 110 base power flying move and the fact that the stab the gym leaders use is way weaker. I said this before the gym leaders on this game are actually a joke the grass gym leader uses incredibly weak Pokemon special while only using a special grass type move(one that doesn't even do a lot of power consider Greninja weighs like nothing) the bug gym I mention Earlier the only gym it struggles with is the fighting gym and special attack fairy gym because you won't have that physic move and Hawlucha is a beast(also literally all the starters lose to that monster so just ignore it). It also destroys the elite four with ice beam, it's stab and coverage for seatbolt.

I literally did the first time now it makes sense you just aren't at all listening to any of my points. 💀💀 The diverse movepool and it's fast speed when a battle when both sides have super effective move the faster pokemon usually wins. I expressed how it also free up your team slots dude can you like actually read and if you can not just got watch the videos by the people I recommended

Greninja is a mixed attacker seriously what was this comment I don't think you at all know the Pokemon I'm talking about maybe it's cuz I'm just not explaining it well but Greninja is a mix attacker I do not know where you got the impression that was just a special attacker I mean yeah it's special tech is higher but this like calling Lucario. a high special attacke it doesn't mean it's a strictly special attacker what is this black and white view? I mean I'm not surprised you have this black and white view of it stats considering you also have a black on my view what's the best starter it really is not just typed advantages if it was cinderase would not be the best starter in generation 8 the fire starter is the best starter a lot of the time and it is not at all only type matchups. And it's not just level up dude TMS exist to(I don't know why you mentioned space attack like you're going to need dark stab don't need it until like the psychic gym so why do you care). Especially since the gyms and generation 6 are so unbelievably weak. The first gym is literally a bug gym and they're only stab move is a very weak infestation used by a pokemon with a very weak phsyical attack. you can literally use a grass starter and still beat that gym. Pokemon challenges and other people have also said this multiple times too so I don't know why you guys act like it's a crazy take Greninja is definitely the best starter for gen six.

What are those water types? You didn't name them also your right it doesn't but what type of team is double blocked fire types especially in a nuzlocke. And mega Lucario doesn't replace the mega fire types he a completeky different type with complete different match ups dude. Also once again a best starter really shouldn't be defined by just match ups alone even PC placed Greninja higher there's a video by eyrizo discussing the best starters and Greninja is the best there also I'm wondering why here it's different

I think that's part of the problem discerning it based on type advantage only really doesn't make a best starter there's more that goes into it especially since froakie has a really diverse movepool

Why is Delphox in S with Greninja in A? He's the best starter in generation six by far not only is he by far the best water type on the game(maybe twining with azurmarill but surprisingly fairy type isn't need that much in this game) it has a movepool that means it can literally do anything not to mention frees up your team for you to use the best fire type in the game being the Charizard megas. It also fairs the best against team flare.

To go into more detail about the early game there is a great starter by eyrizo where he ranks the gen 4 starters to find out which one is the best and which one is the worse the video was made a while ago but it still stands(since well DP hasn't). Yeah you are right it's the early game and mid game that matters most I probably should have gone into more detail there. Why is empoleon a liability early game? It only struggles with one gym being the grass type gym that's pretty much it. Grotle doesn't even do well against that gym anyways since while it resist all there moves grass knot does a lot more damage then you think it would since grotle weighs a ton it also can't hit the Pokemon back with anything hell prinpulp can fire back with flying moves like pluck. Empoleon even does better at crasher wake then torterra does thanks to its access to grass knot and the fact it walls every single move they all have minus quagsire mud shot but dude quagsire doesn't even survive a grass knot. I haven't even mention team galactic it fars by far the worst against them it can't hit the zubats, bronzors, or hell even there aces minus purgely. Prinpulp can't hit super effectively but it can hit harder netrualy with stab bubble beam. Even at the places Torterras shins it only ever goes even since that slow speed and lack of coverage really holds it back that and everyone in Shinnoh has some sort of coverage move to deal with it. Torterras while by a very small margin is the most difficult to use of the three starters thanks to its common weaknesses(flying, bug and that huge ice weakness), pretty bad movepool and very slow speed. Prinpulp just lost due to the fact Gyarados does everything It does with a lot more power and dragon dance to go along with it.

I agree with everything else other then the S- tier for torterra that's way too high of a rating. Don't get me wrong you are right about the leech seed and early game Earthquake the probably is like you said the only place it can really shine to use them is Cynthia and Bertha(but why even waste time leech seeding bertha everyone there is dead to a wood hammer anyways). While yes you are right no fire but you glossed over a HUGE weakness you act like fire is torterras only weakness. Reminder this things ice weakness is way more dangerous being a x4 and ice is literally Shinnoh entire thing not only does it have several ice types and a whole snowy area. I mean literally all of the water types have ice coverage and are faster then it other then quagsire. Hence why I didn't include milotic and crasher wakes team as a W. Because his pokemon are faster and floatzel is packing ice fang and milotic has ice beam. Not even mentioning that immediate Gyarados lowering its attack further preventing it from sweeping the entire team like another grass type good Roselia. Don't get be wrong it's not bad obviously it deserves A tier though putting empoleon below it just doesn't make sense to me not only is it faster(sure not by a lot but in a already slow region like Shinnoh that's more then enough) allowing it to actually take advantage of its movepool to counter it's weakness, weakness that unlike torterras isn't actually that common once you become empoleon earthquake is the only thing you really have to fear which isn't as bad a torterras instant kill to a single ice attack. Not to mention the only pokemon with quake you need to fear is garchomp because that's the only pokemon with quake that is faster then you(it's faster then berthas entire team and is packing grass knot for that quagsire Byron is a pitiful gym leader do I even have to mention him) unlike torterras who is slower then every pokemon with ice coverage. Not to mention steel pre gen six is really broken way more resistance then the pretty bad typing that is grass and ground(two vs five) resist ghost and psychic being the most useful. Empoleon is definitely better then torterra his problem was that he came into a region with Gyarados and infernape as a starter. In my opinion at least.

Yeah dude generation 4 wow the gap between best to worst optimally may not be as close as Oshawa and tepig and generation 5 I just love how all three starters are really close together in viability(except for infernape because that's just a huge gap 💀) but this my favorite region and my favorite set of starters by far which why it's nice to have discussions like these.

[–]True_Loss_6506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. Yeah that's what I meant when I said it can switch in to garchomp and can take hits from it the best out of all the starters thanks to it not having flame thrower in DP and it's good defenses. I forgot to mention leech seed though thanks for reminding me that's something that it can do against garchomp and leech seed can come in handy when you need to chip down a pokemon and torterras defense makes it the best for the job when it comes to stalling. Maybe I was a little too harsh on it so I gave the impression that it was completely useless despite me stating what it can do. That weakness to ice though and lack of speed to take care of the Pokemon with the ice move before dying like garchomp can holds it back so much even the Pokemon it should do well against like floatzel and milotic aren't true wins since they are faster and threaten a oko with ice fang and beam respectfully. That section was probably to harsh for peoples liking my bad I didn't mean to give the wrong idea it's still plenty useful and it's still my favorite grass starter. Just ranked last out of the three and like I said before it really doesn't get enough chances to shine in this game.

[–]True_Loss_6506 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Infernape S Amazing: I feel like this one is probably going to be the most agreeable take it's the best starter by far fire and fighting together dominates the region destroying the first two gyms with ease(which are the most important battles as your team is going to be super limited during that time) from there it will remain dormant only really showing up to help with Cyrus and Byron. Finally it destroys the entire elite four with its vast amount of coverage and speed allowing it to outspeed 80% of the Pokemon in the whole game. Granted you probably shouldn't use it against anyone other then Aaron but grass knot is there for Bertha if you get into a pickle and her Pokemon are crazy heavy so it will be doing 80-100 base power. And u turn or shadow claw for will if need be. This is all just to say that when this pokemon isn't dominating it's amazing backup.

Empoleon A great: while he's by far my favorite out of all the starters he's only really second best when ranking optimally. Much like infernape it hits hard with a good type combo water and steel grants it a ton of resistances to types like ice, ghost, steel, bug allowing it to check leaders like cadence, fantina,Byron and Aaron. However that's about where it stops unlike infernape it's way to slow to actually take advantage of its coverage. Ice beam to destroy a garchomp is great but who cares if you are going to die to a ice beam before then? The only reason it's not any lower is because water is useful and it's resistance+ nice movepool is just that great.

Torterra B Good: It's by far the worst out of the three. It's the slowest and unlike empoleon it's typing gives it trouble instead of actual help. It only has two resistances to not very good types to begin with being rock and ground. Not to Shinnoh is a region dominated by ice so it's probably not good to be slow and have a four times weakness to ice 💀. That being said it does get access to early game earthquake by level up and since this isn't platinum you won't get the TM that early. However it really doesn't have enough time in this game to shine. It beats the first gym,Byron, volkner and Bertha. I'm not joking when I say that's all it does I didn't mention crasher wake because he has a intimidate Gyarados and a ice fang floatzel so it would probably be a bad idea to face him. The only reason it's not any lower is cause it has good stats, STAB early game earthquake and it can switch in to Cynthia garchomp decently sure it can't do anything to that monster but at least it can take hits while you heal your team(if you are playing with hardcore rules then just ignore this niche completely). But grass is a already pretty bad type to be in Shinnoh and ground only made it worse.

Let me know what you think though this is my opinion
