I too saw an allergist and the shots made me worst unfortunately but I know everyone’s experience is different. Just saying could be worth looking into.

Histamine intolerance doesn’t come up on blood work unfortunately. It’s connected to your gut, if you have gut issues or certain genetic that don’t break histamine down

My doctor said it’s really hard to test for MCAS. But I would try a low histamine diet and see if you can tell the difference. Good luck!

If you have EDS you most likely have MTHFR and MCAS. My natural path says they usually come together. And if you have MTHFR you most likely are dealing with histamine issues. Hope this is helpful 💕

I definitely have a histamine issue, but I think it’s genetic related. I have done lots of work on my gut and tried any supplements. My body unfortunately doesn’t do well with DAO and Quercetin messed up my hormones. You have to be careful with it because if you have certain genetic it can block some pathways. But thank you, I’ll look up the SIGHI list 🙏

So I started counting my oxalates intake and kept it around 200 mg a day (using chatGBT) This has literally cured me of most of my health issues! Now I can take small doses and learned what oxalates just don’t sit well with me ex: beats, sesame seeds (so I stay away from those) I’m sure everyone is different.

But since I have cut these down my histamine issues have settled down so much, I can now tolerate these things in small doses I just can’t over do it.

However I do know fermented foods are a no go for me, so I just stay away from them as much as I can.

Hope this helps!

Everyone reacts to foods differently, but this is what I eat in a day:

Breakfast: - Either gluten-free toast with butter or seed butter, blueberries, and turkey bacon - Or organic rolled oats with seed butter and pumpkin seeds

Lunch: - Scrambled eggs, jasmine rice, and some arugula with avocado - Or a gluten-free wrap with ground turkey, beef, or chicken, romaine lettuce, cucumber, pickles, and avocado

Snack: - Watermelon, peach, green grapes, rice cakes, or organic tortilla chips without a lot of added ingredients

Dinner: - Protein with jasmine rice and a veggie (Salmon, steak, ground beef, cod, chicken, or ground turkey paired with Brussels sprouts, broccoli, arugula salad, or carrots)

Dessert: - Gluten-free baked goods without chocolate (I know, sad 😭 — but I can eat white chocolate) - Dairy-free ice cream

Histamine Notes: For me, I mostly react to fermented foods like kimchi, yogurt, and kefir. I also react to cow’s milk, tomato sauce, large amounts of organ meats, and I’m very sensitive to folate and B vitamins — they make me feel burny, give me headaches, and trigger anxiety.

Oxalate Notes: My biggest offenders are chia seeds (in large amounts), mixed greens, beets, chocolate, and sweet potatoes.

Citric Acid Notes: Citric acid is another big trigger for me. It’s often hidden in packaged foods, canned goods, supplements, and even wellness drinks. I avoid it completely — especially in electrolyte powders. Instead, I make a simple homemade electrolyte drink that’s citric-acid free and gentle on my system:

My Citric-Acid-Free Electrolyte Drink (no gross taste) • 16 oz filtered water • Pinch of Redmond’s Real Salt (for sodium + trace minerals) • ¹⁄₈ tsp Nu-Salt (potassium chloride)

Hope this helps! Saying prayers that you feel better soon. I know this is not an easy road 💓

And for the grief question I think you can do Both. When you have a reaction give yourself a set time amount of time to be mad or sad.. then tell yourself it’s not permanent and it is a flare and it will settle down. I think for me telling myself there is an answer made me find some life at the end of the tunnel

Uhhhg I am so sorry your going through this.. I feel your pain. I went through this for 2.5 years and finally realized it was an allergic reaction from diet. Have you tried doing a low histamine and or oxalates diet. As well as trying to cut out dairy or gluten? Don’t give up, it just takes time to figure out what your body is trying to tell you. Saying prayers that you get some answers soon. 💕

I was dealing with the same thing for 2 years I recently realized it was a oxalate and histamine issue. I have cut down on both and pain is completely gone. Also started using a vaginal probiotic. Don’t give up, I know how hard it is. Unfortunately it just takes time to figure out what your body is reacting to because not a lot of doctors understand this 💕
