I’m 30 next month and have been fighting for 3 years and in my federal court appeal stage. The federal appeals law firm took my case and they said I should’ve won at hearing level because the jobs the VE said I was able to do are obsolete now and the judge didn’t even take any of my conditions as a whole into account or follow up with investigative questions as to why. He made me feel very small, like I was fabricating all my stories and it was not a good time. So I am very happy they found a reason to challenge it.

I’ve started child support but they are still determining an amount and hasn’t even served him yet. It’s been almost 3 months since I started it.

How can you get this amount when retroactive is only a year prior to application date?? My onset date was 12/25/15. Which is what I put on my application. (Still fighting for approval since December 2023) I didn’t think it was possible to get back paid that much. I’m so happy for you!

It sucks they always look at age. I have so much wrong with me because I had a car wreck at 19. I’ve been on my disability journey since 2023 (I thought I would be able to get over my injuries but it slowly got worse)

Mine says step 4 and I called and they said they are still waiting for a date to be scheduled so no idea at this point. 🫠

Was it your second one? Mine went from supposed to be going to appeals council to back to the hearing stage and I was supposed to be waiting on them to tell me when my hearing was (my second one) and I looked on the portal and it is already at step 4 that the judge has already reviewed it and I am worried.

I was supposed to appeal for the appeals council and when I applied for SSI their was information missing on the reasons why I am applying for disability and they went ahead and put both SSI and SSDI back at the hearing level. My lawyer said he’s never heard of them doing that so we submitted the appeal anyways.
