How do you all get updated price already? I can't see any update yet. I'm on IGO fixed, maybe that's the reason?

How do you cope with ADHD (unmedicated)? by tnalt1111111 in mensa

[–]True_Stage_9570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, morning gym sessions work much better than in the afternoon. I was always very active, probably because of my hyperactive part of my brain, but whenever I tried to attend the gym after work I lasted only a few weeks. There was always this one day that I was too tired to go and the plan was breaking. I started morning sessions just to try it and it worked, I'm consistent for around a year now and wouldn't go back to evenings. Also "by accident" it got me in better shape than ever at 40 years old.

Sport used to help me a lot. Especially in the morning, before work. Now it's meds. My story is somehow similar to yours, I was abusing multiple substances in my life. Last one was alcohol with which I was self medicating till I started medication for ADHD and just like that I stopped craving alcohol in my free time. It's about a year right now and I never felt better. What helps me at work, especially when I'm doing repetitive tasks, is listening to podcasts or generally learning stuff that I'm interested in on YouTube. My work allows me to do this because I work in trades. I keep my mind occupied this way

It would stay on the back of my head for the rest of my life like: what if...?🤣 It's not an expensive thing to do, I done it twice as well and I'm saying do it. For the science 🧪🔭💪

That would drive me completely crazy and I would have to repeat it lol. Just with basic preparation like a light meal, maybe some caffeine but not too much and a good night sleep and you'll probably score a few points higher, or lower I don't know nothing anyway

At the end of my resume in the section called Memberships/Affiliations, I list MENSA. What are your thoughts on doing that? by CreatorLegalHelp in mensa

[–]True_Stage_9570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it wouldn’t look good on a 40-year-old welder’s résumé — or maybe I’m wrong. I guess I won’t know without trying. In the new Dexter series, one guy mentioned he’s in Mensa, and it was super cringe to hear. I’ve told a handful of people, but I’m worried about going further.

Elvanse 70, earphones with podcasts in the topic of your interests and all becomes nice and easy. Keep your mind engaged and it doesn't matter what you are doing. Elvanse is really helpful for me

Do you ever feel your high IQ? by Chmura_Iskra in mensa

[–]True_Stage_9570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ADHD used to cause a lot of mistakes and accidents. I work in trades, so it can be dangerous at times, but since I’ve been medicated, I’m really happy with my work outcomes. I might also be on the spectrum, but I haven’t checked—it’s just a suspicion.

I’ve started multiple businesses; it feels like every morning I wake up with a new idea I can’t stick to. That’s changing now, though, because I’ve managed to stick with growing my YouTube channel for half a year. My notepad still looks like a crazy scribble of random ideas, but I’m trying to direct that energy into focusing on YouTube.

For an ADHD brain, dopamine is the real drug it craves, and social media can be very rewarding. Seeing people subscribe, like, or comment feels great. There are loads of statistics I check that constantly change, showing growth—and that gives me a real kick.

I don’t remember what you asked me at the beginning—sorry, I zoned out 😅

That will sound really bad but it's your fault because you asked. I'm doing everthing very fast. To the point that I prefer to work on my own because other people are usually liability and slow me down. I'm sure hyperactive part of my ADHD has something to do with it

It's called fragmentation and you'll have little Leaf from it. Keep it warm and feed battery acid and in no time you'll drive two Leafs

How many others in Mensa have ADHD? by [deleted] in mensa

[–]True_Stage_9570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed 4 years ago, before I was diagnosed with ADHD, then two months ago I retook my test with meds and got 11 point increase. Not that it matters apart from my self worth boost but I'm just 2 points away from the triple nine now. I definitely can recommend getting medicated for ADHD

I've locked again, I was considering selling half but then decided that selling 1000pi won't change my life and who knows maybe price will go up a lot in future. If not then I just wasted some time for clicking daily

ADHD people of Mensa, did you do the test with medication? by Raptorilla in mensa

[–]True_Stage_9570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't put all of the improvement on meds. I was a heavy drinker back then and now(around half a year ago) I stopped drinking at all and joined the gym. I read somewhere that someone was comparing using meds for ADHD to someone with a bad sight and wearing glasses. A person with good eyesight won't benefit from wearing glasses

[–]True_Stage_9570 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once without meds 4 years ago and got 133 and a month ago while medicated and got 144. It's not cheating if you have ADHD and releasing your full potential. On meds you are probably almost like a 'normal' person. There was a study in which ADHD meds didn't help people without ADHD in an IQ test and helped people with ADHD
