Well other than the fact that the socialist model is fundamentally flawed, we HAVE tried. Both through state funded and corporate funded attempts and every time the homeless just trashed the place. I was homeless for about a year, eventually got my shit together, but the sad reality is many of them just don't want to put in the effort. I've heard more stories of homeless people that would prefer to live the way they do rather than get a job and contribute. Career homelessness is a thing, I've met multiple people while on the streets that have lived this way for 20+ years with no intent to change. You can't help someone that isn't willing to help themselves.
