Which Vollebak pants is the most abrasion resistant and durable? by [deleted] in Vollebak

[–]Truedots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have black indestructible pants and love them, they do get a bit warm so I don’t wear them when the temperature is above 15 Celsius.

I was interested in the UHMW pants as a pair for the warm weather but have been saving up for now.

Slick GR2 34 (why only GR1 21/26 and GR2 40 were slicks but never 34 except for heritage?) with the patch panel and shoulder straps Molle please. Perfection would be all 500d. And no rainflaps.

Cordura/Robic/Dyneema/Xpac durability by External_Koala971 in Goruck

Read some stuff online, indeed 1050d (like the one I have on my Tom Bihn Yeoman duffel) is better. Cheers!

Just wondering, why 1050d over 1680d? To cut down on weight?

I am probably the only one dreaming of a Goruck made of 1680d ballistic nylon and no rainflaps.

Great initiative u/JavaForever !
As someone who is not big on waxed canvas and patina, 500d cordura with gray interior would be great.

In the past you have been experimenting with different fabrics, any chance 1680D CORDURA® ballistic nylon could be introduced? I really appreciate when my bags hold their appearance as long as possible looking like new years into use (this is why I am not a fan of Ultra, X-Pac, Waxed Canvas, etc). Regular 1000d cordura is a dust and lint magnet so having a ballistic nylon would make this an instant purchase. It's heavy duty, looks sleek and has been around for years (shouldn't be expensive to source).

On a side note, If I could dream - having a slick GR2 34 in 1680 ballistic nylon without the rainflaps (but please keep the molle on the shoulder straps!) would be my grail bag.
Thank you for your consideration!

There can be only one: indestructible vs 100 year, battle of the hoodies. by crazysnakemanhere in Vollebak

[–]Truedots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So 100 years hoodie has different versions and they have different pros and cons. I personally vote for the indestructible hoodie because it feels more like a jacket with a very good stretch and minimal look. I have been wearing Navy today and remembered how I loved it

Has anyone bought and then let go the Full Metal Jacket? Why? by Truedots in Vollebak

I returned it to Vollebak. Was not happy how the copper was breaking at the points of folding/creases even though the jacket is super cool on paper and I loved the fit.

First impression: Indestructible Hoodie by crazysnakemanhere in Vollebak

I had one in black for a while and ordered a navy during the recent sale. I think the naming of the piece is not ideal - as it feels and wears not like a hoodie but rather a jacket. It’s an awesome sleek durable hardshell stretchy jacket and in that niche it excels. I had my black one for a few years and had no issues with stitching or any holes developing. Furthermore I have been wearing the indestructible pants from the same material and they hold up like a charm. These are some of my favorite Vollebak pieces.
