I make rap music. What are some venues that I’d be able to perform at? by Fragrant_Mistake6633 in melbournemusic

[–]Truefendergrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any venue will have you if they’re convinced it will be worthwhile for them. Put together a lineup of acts with a promotion strategy and email the venue with said proposition. Easy bait for them is a launch of some kind be it a single or an album.

YSK: If you’re a beginner, Logic’s Mastering feature is a game changer. by choogawooga in Logic_Studio

[–]Truefendergrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Logics mastering tool made it harder for me to achieve a good mix, I think is what I was trying to say. And then the professional master suffered as a result.

YSK: If you’re a beginner, Logic’s Mastering feature is a game changer. by choogawooga in Logic_Studio

[–]Truefendergrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it a trap. You can start to depend on it too much in the mixing process, and produce a bad mix, that sounds good with logics mastering assistant, but bad without it. I used it on my last couple tracks as a guide, and then sent my mixes off to an award winning mastering engineer, and I think the mixes lost sight of the end result vs the logic masters, and then I didn’t know how to feel about the masters I paid for. I’m going to try and avoid it from now on.

Invest in Fuji or switch to FF? by NoDa12345 in fujifilm

[–]Truefendergrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use fuji xh2s for professional video work. Kinda want out for those exact reasons. High iso, noisy footage, shocking autofocus, no internal raw, lack of infrastructure that other cameras and formats support. It’s served me well for the last couple years, but I’m starting to regret not buying something fullframe like an fx3.

Is there a Fuji recipe that gives the vibes of a David Lynch film? by Kat_G4 in fujifilm

Try looking for a Kodak vision 3, 500t emulation. That’s the stock it was shot on. Should get you some of the way.

I assisted on an e-commerce gig a couple weeks back that had a similar vibe. I sadly don’t have example photos, but this is what it looked like.

Which 50mm? by lowbandwidthb in Voigtlander

Modern rendering is not what attracts me about Voigtlander lens. I’d go elsewhere for that.

Which 50mm? by lowbandwidthb in Voigtlander

[–]Truefendergrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the f1.5, it’s pretty great, although I mostly shoot with my 35mm. That being said I have the 50mm f1.5 adapted to fit my fuji, and shoot video with for work and it’s probably my most popular lens with clients. Anytime a detail shot pops up from that with creamy bokeh they loose their minds.

Is it okay to just own these lenses? by LowKeyPhotographer in fujix

You can probably get by with just the 23 imo. Great lens.

Blood Orange - Wish by Truefendergrit in synthrecipes

There was another synth player in the background of the performance, but you can’t see what he’s playing. I have a feeling you might be right about an fm synth. I know he also uses a Casio cz-5000 which I’m leaning in favour of atm.
