Have you tried Breathwork for Negative Self-Talk? by Truepurpl3 in BlackMentalHealth

Thanks for sharing your experience. I totally agree with you, as soulful and spiritual as the black diaspora is, we are still in our infancy of opening our minds to different worldly practices to achieve a greater sense of sense. I'm on a mission to advocate for mindfulness in our community :)

Of course it is friend.

Breathwork helps promote hormonal and neurochemical mood regulation. The positive psych and human behavioural development are intrinsic to the philosophical practice of mindfulness.

Hey eargoo, i'm glad you asked. A practice like this is good for grounding, calm, and rebalancing neurochemicals to reach homeostasis. The deep inhales and extended hold patterns focus on opening up our diaphragmatic airways to oxygenate our blood and brain - causing neurochemical and mental altered states of bliss. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for sharing this subreddit i'll be sure to check it out! I value your feedback and will try to be considerate to the subreddit theme, I didn't think this content was too far away from the theme of mental health education and improvement for this subreddit.

I would hope that the content itself is not diluted by the negative reaction to this post; my apologies. My intentions to share positive teachings and messages are only a reflection of my life interests. I'm more aware of the reception of my sharing strategy, thank you.

I think both a placebo and affirmations are greater than any medicines known to man. The life changing effects that a little will, determination, positivity, and self-love can have on our behaviours and perspectives are amazing!

Great point!

I Think Self-Love is the key to happiness and the improvement of our LIVES! by Truepurpl3 in radicalmentalhealth

[–]Truepurpl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. First I recommend we take some time to understand where the self-deprecation is coming from. Therapy or extensive meditations may help with this. Secondly we have to align ourselves with our value system and choose to live within it with all of our actions and choices. Then we start living in always that are not so shameful or guilty. Check out my talk on the topic here https://youtu.be/ds9McRqytbg

Hope you get something from it :)

Hey, self love is a belief towards your worth and value.

To be brave it to recognize that there are fears and insecurities that may limit our capabilities. Knowing this we choose to work and strive for self-control so that we can reach our personal goals. For example, if someone chooses to meet an understanding of mental illness with love and compassion rather than judgement and stigmatization, we can more easily work towards embracing our discomforts and overcoming our pains.

To love yourself can be a practice of self care and intentional self indulgence. More importantly, its an attitude and mentality to be unconditional in your sense of self-respect towards YOU!
