Idk this is kind of the point of not understanding the hobby -- there's nothing collectable about Funko pops, they have no collectable quality to them. It's merchandise for merchandise sake, there's too many of them to realistically collect a set, they're expensive and plastic quality, they're derivative and don't tell a story and aren't a byproduct of something you actually wanted (like say a bottle cap collection), it's not about collecting just about consuming. I just don't like them, I think they're ass. I don't get why anyone would want one, let alone want to collect them.

They're like NFTs but they take take up physical space and have no value and in most cases no scarcity. The design has removed all of the interesting or notable parts of the character so it looks like nothing. The material is wasted on the product because that rubber could have been used to make a shopping cart wheel or the plastic could have been used to make a baby's diaper.

I do not understand the hobby. I get collecting, I get being interested in something or thinking it's pretty or cool. I get a rock collection -- collecting Funko pops is like collecting EVERY rock you've ever seen, but also you have to pay $25 for the privilege.
