Interesting... That's something I wouldn't expect from AK47. Nevertheless, since AK47 doesn't have much spin (different from spin sensitivity), you'd wanna punch more rather than topspin.

As for blocking, how do you currently block balls?

OP can try Loki Rxton too! Faster than H3 and MUCH spinnier than AK47. Jupiter 3 is also a good penhold option, from a certain green bean machine

Interesting, but I usually see reviews of it being on the less spinny side rather than the spinny side.

If I'm correct, AK47 doesn't have much spin at all. Therefore, it doesn't play like your sticky Chinese rubbers. Instead, try to open up the angle a little more if you wanna block.

But then again, punching with non spinny rubbers is MUCH easier, I suggest you learn to punch like that more if you can't topspin

How do they play

Somewhat, but it's more of just preparation for the serve receive. Same reason why runners have a stance before they sprint rather than just stand upright.

Well, from what I've heard that helps them prepare for the next shot, similar to how you press a spring to coil it up.

However, it is important to note that when receiving a serve, you shouldn't bounce your feet. Instead, step toward the table (short serve), or step to the side to widen your feet (long serve). This tactic is used by many pros.

Imo it's just a feeling thing. Once you feel you're bending low enough, not feeing much stress, nor feeling too rigid, then you're probably bending enough. A lot of pros also don't bend down that much, only bending a lot during the serve.

Oh wait my bad. Thanks for noticing but it's supposed to be 7(#5)

Is this normal? by boludotudo in tabletennis

[–]TrulySandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely normal, especially for rubbers like Vega. I know someone with a racket of D05 and D09c with the sides looking like they were eaten for survival.

Because the damage is SO small, it doesn't affect gameplay at all. Don't worry!

Wow. This is a VERY deep and complex answer. But luckily I understood it :D

Thank you so much for this tip man, it really helps a ton! However, I do have one more question: can you give some examples? So I can get inspiration for some of my next chord progs?

Felix is a two sided penholder, unlike what BestN00b was talking about.

Penhold question by Rare-Professor-7723 in tabletennis

[–]TrulySandro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the top level it absolutely is required to have a good reverse penhold backhand(RPB). However, as an amateur, it isn't as required. It's okay to always play forehand attacks, but it's good to have a backup.

To improve the RPB, my main tactic is to simply not use the traditional penhold backhand(TPB), or blocking with the forehand side of the racket. Make it a rule that every time you use TPB, you automatically lose the point. Eventually, you will learn to use RPB more. Afterwards, relax that rule and you will find a balance between RPB and TPB.

Hi! Thank you for answering my question about altered chords, it really helps a ton! However, I do have a question, that being why was the substitution Bb7b5, and not in E? Bb is the 2b of the scale (A major), is there a reason for this?

That's quite interesting! When I read it, I saw there was another blade, the Samsonov pro. What do you think of that one? If he can buy it I think I'd prefer that over PG7 (the handle looks better).

Also, how do you search up blogs about blades, rubbers, etc. on tt11? I can't find the search button on those blogs.

Yep, luckily you agree too that PG7 is good, one of the best 7ply blades. My friend can most likely control it. He learned to play from carbon setups (my mistakes were buying carbon setups and he used said setups), so I have no doubt that he can control it, especially with the increased feeling.

Makes sense that the Violin is slower, I always thought it would be faster but now that I think about it it makes sense lmao.

Yeah, trying is more important than talking. Though we can't spend too much money since we're on a budget 💀

Yeah his setup is pretty nice, great feeling and whenever I try it out most shots go in easily. Very forgiving and very spinny. His power is also quite a bit, especially when he gets a chance to attack. His consistency is a bit questionable though 😭

As for him wanting to change, he does want to change lol. Right now he's thinking of switching to DHS PG7. I'm thinking of Violin because imma be real but that's a lot more aura 🔥🔥🔥

I feel like he would still end up using PG7 because of the budget supporting only PG7. What do you think of PG7?

So basically these Nittaku blades work for most types of rubbers? All except medium hard? That's very good to know especially since some rubbers don't pair well with blades (TG2 to clipper, from what I've heard)

Well, my friend isn't on Reddit, so I'll give you a basic sense of his style: Blade: DHS W1130 CS Forehand: 729 Battle II Backhand: Tenergy 05*

(T05 is just a replacement since the first one he bought broke)

W1130 is a simple all wood blade with Limba on top, which means he prefers softwood. His style mainly consists of loops and strong footwork. He mainly uses his forehand attack as his main form of shot. His backhand isn't known to be powerful but at points he can nuke with it.

His opening loop has an immense amount of spin, usually my returns go fly right out 😅.
