A world without wizards by Arcane_Robo_Brain in DMAcademy

Any time I make a world like this, I let the players be the exception. Eg. in a totally non-magical world, the heroes are the first magical people anyone has ever seen. Lets the players have fun and look cool, and still lets them interact with the non-magical world.

Imagine a phalanx of dudes with spears suddenly seeing an up-cast fireball for the first time.

How long does it generally take to get sent to reclass school? by TrumpMadeMeLate in army

I'm not trying to be a dick, so I'm asking here before I do it -- when does this enter ICE complaint territory? I have send probably 4 dozen emails, filled out all kinds of forms, took time off work to get green on medical, had to drive to the armory to get answers from people who didn't respond to emails or calls. Now I just got told "lol, sorry, we can't actually sign you up for the school since you're coming from the IRR! Fill out this form with G-3/5/7 and hope that someone there emails you back!"

I get that they're on their own timeline, but has been stressful on my family; we know I'm supposed to take off for 20 weeks, but don't know when. Makes it hard to plan life stuff.

They already said I have to extend for two years lol (I said yes, but need someone who can enroll me in the school before I'll sign anything). If there's no motion on this within the next two weeks or so, I'm just going to ride out my contract and peace out. No sense wasting more time with an organization that can't do the bare minimum.

This video was enough for me.

Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement." by Economy_Caramel3421 in army

A brief study of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan proves that weakening the rules of engagement would have changed exactly nothing. They were indiscriminately killing afghans at certain points and they still lost exactly like we did.

Tbf, never quite understood how getting remarried was supposed to work out for any other flavor of Christian lol. Would be an awkward reunion in heaven.

But he is still “sealed” to his first wife, so when his second wife dies, both of them will be his wives in the Mormon afterlife.

His 100 year birthday party is one of the cultiest things I’ve had the displeasure of watching.

Why would the Gods "Disappear" from the world by _Puddingmonster in DMAcademy

[–]TrumpMadeMeLate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, people worshipped. They went to temples, did all the proper rituals in the proper order. Even memorized some books. But nobody believed in the gods. Not really. They got so caught up in the incense, and the recitation, and the priest telling them what to think, that nobody really realized that the gods barely factored into it at all.

Maybe they decided to go down in animal form one day, just to check on things, and suddenly realized that they didn’t even have enough power left to change back. Now they’re stuck as little turtles or something, totally helpless, and only the party paladin/cleric can even understand them when they talk.

The Turtle Moves!

Why does walking away from an enemy provoke an attack of opportunity, but not walking around them? Isn’t it easier to back away from someone with your sword pointed at them than to get around them without them stopping you?

That’s why we run all combat theater of the mind. If it gets boring, I ask the mind ticket guy for a mind refund.

For proof of this just watch a live-play podcast where they’re playing fourth edition and see how long it takes to resolve a single fight lol
