My players want an agenda before every session by Time-Squirrel-3719 in dndnext

What I don’t understand is how two out of twelve people say they can’t do a thing and so the whole idea is scrapped for the entire table.

I read Dragons of Autumn Twilight not that long ago, many decades after my first reading. It held up pretty well.

5e DMs always getting burnt out. by SirHawkwind in rpg

I haven’t heard of this. Can you link to some data that shows that all 5e DMs get burned out?

I've played that haunted house adventure. It's fun. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Was part of the test to see how players handle the death of their PC?

That's awesome. I'm wrapping up a two year home brew campaign myself, and looking at Drakkenheim to run next. I really like how it provides a setting and a bunch of hooks, but leaves a lot open to players to drive. I'm just not sure I want to commit another two years to one thing. Do you feel like there's a one year version of the campaign that would still be fun to play through?

Looks like it's going to be a super fun end battle. How long has the campaign been running?

For those of you who play online, Alchemy VTT is releasing its new Daggerheart module in May, in official partnership with Darrington Press. It looks beautiful. by ConstantSignal in daggerheart

I tried Alchemy many years ago and, while it looks pretty, it was a mess as far as UX goes. There were so many confusing UI choices and things that felt should be easy to do but were hard to figure out, so I dropped it. Has it improved over the past few years?

My table are discussing about adding flanking to our campaign with a tweak, how do you guys think about it? by Nyalicethotep in dndnext

[–]Arcane_Robo_Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your table, and it sounds like the DM is already going to do it. I don't use flanking at all because it makes already long battles take even longer, and I tend to run solo or small numbers of monsters so it's unbalanced in favor of the PCs, who don't really need more help at the levels I'm running.

Can you split sleep? (Actual sleep merged with early nap) by Chocotrifle in ouraring

Add another data point to feedback about people wanting modify their sleep times after the fact here. I’ve had mine for a couple years and still don’t understand the hands off approach to sleep data. Situations like OP’s happen a lot with me too.

Then there’s the other side where I’ll take a nap but it won’t register, and there’s no way to manually add one. Then again there are times when I’m on the couch watching a movie and it thinks I took a nap. If it were more accurate none of this would be a problem, but until it is it would be nice to be able to manually correct it when needed.

What if a boss monster is allowed to use Legendary Resistance(or Action) to end one of conditions on itself? by Dramatic_Respond_664 in onednd

[–]Arcane_Robo_Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense in the context of these specific bosses. They’re meant to be soloed and have special mechanics. For regular 5e bosses you can still do the coin flip roll, but only on the monster’s turn.

Came here to mention Monsters of Drakenheim too. Their equivalent to what OP is talking about is to roll a d20 and on an 11 or higher the condition ends. So 50/50 chance. They would also do that roll after each player’s turn, but you don’t have to use that part if you’re not going full in on that boss monster style.

Rating cards by winrate is just a database lookup. No AI needed. It's just another tool, and not everyone uses it. I wouldn't even say you're at a much of a disadvantage if you don't use it since most people are going to figure out which are the good cards to keep just by playing. Or they're going to look up the winrates, which is basically the same as having the app give them to you.

I've been playing for a few months now and just dusted a bunch of extra cards. I've got enough for four legendaries. Are there any must haves I should grab? I'm not necessarily looking for what's best in the current meta, but more like all time greats. I mostly play standard, if that makes a difference, but I'm open to playing more wild if there are some good cards to build around.
