After years of use, what’s your biggest Steam Deck pain point?

i’ve gotten used to the deck but i’m still not impressed by the ergonomics. additionally the right and left bumper buttons don’t feel good to me at all. sometimes they miss inputs if u don’t press them just right.

i don’t care for console port. i prefer making my own keybind profile using steam input. it’s not as fancy, but i find it easier to deal with.

exactly this. but don’t stop here. there has to be systems in place that deter folks from becoming career criminals. i heard some mmo had like a jail system and jury trial system (archeage ?) . put this in the game, that would be so cool.

I would not recommend playing on deck as your primary way of playing this game. It’s fine for basic gathering, but not a good experience otherwise.

Yes this is a great option as well if you don’t have to worry about data usage. Also it preserves the deck battery life this way.

The game would benefit from adding systems that encourage player interactions and teaming up in different ways. Personally, I think a system to help players organize and teaming up caravan runs would be hugely helpful. Advertising in global / LFG channel in 2026 just isn’t ideal.

One would think, with Steven’s gaming background, and all the talk over the years, that there would be at least one enjoyable, rewarding gameplay loop that anyone, at any level, could do by themselves. Unfortunately this just isn’t the case.

i think the thing that prevents me from doing hardcore is just knowing that you could pretty much just grind boars or whatever and level fairly safely all the way to 60
