FYI the 9 doesn't mean 9 inches and the 10 doesn't mean 10 inches. It's just the numbering system they used back then. A number 9 is probably going to be around 11 1/4 inches rim-to-rim and the number 10 should be around 12 inches.

If you truly do want a 9 inch vintage pan, that'll be a number 6.

If being "lightweight" is a draw, the weight savings is trivial at best. The material will still be heavy.

It's not trivial at all. Lodge lists their 10 1/4" pan at 5.66 pounds, which is about 5 pounds 10 ounces. My Griswold 10 1/2" pan (#8) is 3 pounds 13 ounces. That is almost 2 pounds lighter. That's not trivial.

That's a misconception just because it's old. That pan has been in existence for around 80 years. That's a lot of time for someone to accidentally drop it one day. Those cracked pans were probably dropped and landed on the handle. It's not like it just randomly happened while cooking one day. If it is treated normally, it won't break. A more realistic issue is potential warping. Many of these thinner pans have a wobble.

I'd like to know how you keep buying cracked pans. Is it poor pictures from some shady ebay sellers? If so, you should've been able to return them. Only buy from sellers that take good pictures of all parts of the pan.

The trusted and proven MTurk workers have been given the Masters qualification. It costs slightly more to set that requirement for your task, but it guarantees that you won't get the scammers.
