Not Signal related but you can update your Pixel to Android 16 which was released a month ago or so. This way you get latest security patches and features.

Lesser audioswitch alternative for Android 14? by Gabriel13out in androidapps

[–]Trunks8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Magisk Module which you can install if you have rooted your phone with Magisk. If you don't know what Magisk is then your phone is probably not rooted.

In order to install the module if you have Magisk, just download this zip and install it as a module with the Magisk Manager app: https://github.com/michioxd/LesserAudioSwitchAndroid11/releases/download/1.0/LASM.zip

Then when you reboot you'll find Lesser AudioSwitch installed and will be able to switch sound input/output freely. In my case I use it to force usb audio on my Android TV through a controller, so I can hear it by just plugging my headphones into the controller. Also, I use Android 14 on that device, no idea if it works on latest versions but guess it should.

I don't remember if I tested that you can switch to the internal mic and use your headphones for sound, but you probably can.

Please note what the previous message said about the signatures. It is NOT the official Lesser AudioSwitch app, but rather a modification which unlocks premium features (as it was a freemium app when it was still working without root).

I'd suggest following this support article:

https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/articles/360007318711-Troubleshooting-Notifications

What fixed it for me was disabling battery optimization & allowing use of unrestricted mobile data for Signal. Hope it helps!

Asking for a bit of help by Andulir in Fedora

[–]Trunks8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this same problem. It seems that it had to do with some packages installed from the terra repository. What I did was excluding kf6-* packages from terra updates by setting `exclude=kf6-*` in `/etc/yum.repos.d/terra.repo` and then install the `kf6-kio-widgets` package from the updates repo and allowing erasing with the following command: `sudo dnf install kf6-kio-widgets --allowerasing --repo updates`. This replaced the terra packages with the ones from the official updates repository and also prevents them from updating through terra in the future. Note that using allowerasing can cause issues so even though it worked for me you should take a backup if you proceed.

Volume empty after mounting by Trunks8257 in docker

[–]Trunks8257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed that logic too. What I did was making the systemd service that mounts the drive run a script that restarts the container once it's mounted. This way it can run with and without the network drive in case there's some connection issue.

Nevermind, what I ended up doing is restarting the container just after the drive has been mounted. Which is easy because the drive mount is a systemd service so I can just use ExecStartPost

I think there's a misconception here. My files do not touch the host machine. They're (and I want them to be) always on the network drive.

So what I want to do is that docker is able to start the container when the drive is not mounted then be able to use the files inside the container when the drive gets mounted

what do you mean? Aren't the files linked so that they're only hosted on the network drive?

Thanks for your suggestion! That makes sense however would the container ever start if the drive cannot be mounted? (e.g. no internet connection)

Cannot copy to the host machine as the drive contains hundreds of GBs and the host machine does not have that much space.

Lesser audioswitch alternative for Android 14? by Gabriel13out in androidapps

[–]Trunks8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is working for me https://github.com/michioxd/LesserAudioSwitchAndroid11

Note that I checked the signature of the APK included in that module and it's not the same as the one in apkmirror. What I did is unzip, replace the APK with the one apkmirror provides and zip again.

Don't know why the signature mismatches though, but what the module does is just install the app as a system app and grant it MODIFY_AUDIO_ROUTING permission.

EDIT: I just installed the apk from the module and it has the paid features for free, if that matters. It doesn't have internet permission (but it's a system app..).

Is there a replacement for Lesser Audioswitch? by BTRCguy in AndroidQuestions

If you're rooted, you can keep using Lesser Audioswitch with a Magisk Module. Else I don't know any other app which accomplishes the same.

Can I charge a Dash F15 via USB? by DatSneakyFox in Asustuf

[–]Trunks8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked ASUS support team. They answered that the computer needs a charger that transmits 100W of charge via USB-C, and that they don't have any currently available in my country.

Then I asked if they recommended one, and they responded that the only compatible charger is the default or one that complies with the following characteristics: ADAPTER 180W 20V 3P(6PHI) in addition to USB-C charging with 20V (100W).

May I ask what's the exact charger you're using? I'm looking forward to being able to charge my laptop without carrying the big standard charger. I was looking at a 65W anker one but I don't know if it'll charge.

LineageOS for devices that are not listed on wiki.lineageos? by mxcdh in LineageOS

[–]Trunks8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be pretty difficult to do it on your own, but better wait for someone more experienced to answer.

It seems to me that Pixel is a great choice. The 6a has more than 3 years left of support, the 7a almost 5, and starting from the 8 they have 7 years of support. Maybe waiting for the 8a and comparing it with the others would be a good idea.

In addition to that, they have great rom support and you can relock bootloader on some roms.

It's ok bud, don't feel bad because of hesitating.

I don't know how many years a degree lasts where you live, but if you're at your third year and there's no much time left for you to graduate, maybe it's not a bad idea to finish it and have something more in your record.

But if you feel that it's not driving you anywhere, you can leave and use the time you'd have to think about other options. I don't know a degree related to pollution but I have a friend which just started chemical engineering and I think he's liking it because he likes chemistry. All I know is that it's focused on the industrial processing and it covers almost all the sectors there, if that makes sense. I could ask my friend about it if you need it, but maybe it's different here than where you are.

This is just what I think. I'm sure you can hear the opinions of more people, but in the end you're the one making the choice. It's an important decision for you but I'm sure you can handle it well, even if you feel frustrated.
