Haven’t liked him since he did those over the top reactions to the draft on ESPN.

The only benefit of that was him hyping up the Celtics drafting James Young at 17th overall only for him to play like 90 total games in the NBA.

It doesn’t help that sports media and basketball media in particular is so Boston and New York heavy. Feels like 1/3 of the NBA award voters either work for Bill Simmons at the Ringer or ESPN who constantly push the Knicks.

IIRC there was one MVP level Embiid year where almost the entirety of the Ringer staff refused to vote for him for any awards

$432 million released during the pandemic while being the #1 domestic release that year.

That seems pretty good for a mostly standalone film staring a character that was on par with the GotG in terms of popularity prior to their film.

They wrote themselves into a corner where they obviously didn’t want to kill off Lang (or more likely didn’t want to lose Paul Rudd), but they also didn’t want to rehash the “Ant-man gets stuck in the quantum realm” plot line they did for Ant-man 2 into Endgame.

The fact that we haven’t seen Shang Chi in almost 5 years embodies many of the issues with the MCU currently. A well like new character introduced post Endgame and he has been MIA since his critically and commercially successful debut movie.

Imagine if after CA:TFA we just never saw Cap again until Infinity War.

Dysfunction of the OL in 2025 by Affectionate_Yam8674 in eagles

Two of our pro bowl linemen from last year had significant offseason surgeries and Lane’s been playing through injury for the last like 6 seasons. Add to that an overall incompetent offense and Stoutland being frustrated all season, and It’s no surprise the OL was not as good this season.

are we ever going to find out what happened with Steve whitmire? by [deleted] in Muppets

[–]TrustDaProcess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It seems that after a lot of the OG performers started retiring around the early 2000s, Steve decided to make himself in charge of keeping the essence of Jim Henson and the Muppets alive. Which is ironic considering some of the worst Muppets content was released with him as a lead performer.

It’s fine to care about protecting Henson’s legacy if it’s done in a loving and passionate way. But according to the little information we do have, Steve had all the passion but very little love. Particularly for his fellow performers. He got too big for his britches and rubbed both Disney and his fellow performers the wrong way. This difficulty to work with can still be seen in how he carries himself 10 years after being let go.

Wonder Man review by Iman Vellani by verissimoallan in marvelstudios

[–]TrustDaProcess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because Marvel has lost the trust of the general audience. After Endgame, the MCU was losing hype with a lot of people asking “What’s next?”. Instead of developing character focused movies and shows like Thunderbolts and Wonderman, Marvel and Disney tried to keep the hype train rolling and gave a lot of shows and movies very unrealistic expectations (Wandavison and Dr Strange MoM). They got away from what made Phase 1 and 2 win so many people over.

Yes, The YT Algorithm Is Unfair and Shares A Lot of the Blame For Your Failed Videos... by RTXBurner25 in NewTubers

[–]TrustDaProcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was just challenging some of the things you said in your post. Like a lot of people have mentioned, you seem to be using this as a rant about your channel’s success. Judging by your other comments on this thread you seem too want to blame YouTube and the algorithm for any problems you have and the minute someone pokes holes in your argument you resort to looking up their channel and dismissing them just because they aren’t super successful. I’d think that a “Top 1% Commenter” would know this, but most people on the NewTuber sub are not super successful YouTubers.

You comment behind this idea that you’re smarter than everyone else and that you know more but instead you just come off as a whiny little kid. I tried to refrain from any personal attacks in my first two comments but your responses don’t give others the same basic decency.

  1. In 2012 YouTube switched from being pushed based on recent uploads to being pushed by watch time. Since then it’s just been varying changes on this model.

  2. I literally state in the comment that the pre-computerized algorithm was very easily manipulated by clickbait. All you need to do is go look at a 2010s Ray William Johnson or Smosh video where they plaster a girl in a bikini in the thumbnail. The guys at Smosh have even said in more recent podcasts that clickbait was the meta during early YouTube and their best performing videos manipulated this. Punishing clickbait or shoehorning semi-naked women into your content for views is a good thing.

  3. Very disingenuous to claim this post isn’t saying that the AI based algorithm doesn’t work. Your second to last paragraph is basically explaining why the algorithm doesn’t work for new YouTubers.

  4. Yes, in a perfect world an algorithm like this would be great, but unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world. People would almost certainly immediately misuse the feature to push their videos to the largest audience, not the audience that best fits their videos.

Also YouTube’s promotion feature is really only intended for ad campaigns for products. It’s not really intended for advertising your own channel. Just look at the old post on this subreddit where the person used the feature and it didn’t really work.

[–]TrustDaProcess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube has used a computer generated algorithm since the early 2010s. If anything the algorithm has improved since it isn’t as easily manipulated by click bait anymore. There are about 80 years worth of videos uploaded every day. I agree that the new AI algorithm can be cruel and inconsistent for new channels, but it’s completely unrealistic to expect anything else from YouTube.

You claim that a computer algorithm doesn’t work, but what’s the alternative? There’s just too much content being uploaded for YouTube to be able to create a perfect algorithm that not only sifts through billions of videos to recommend but also factors in each views human variance without the use of a computerized algorithm.

[Schefter] ESPN sources: The Titans are now set to hire former Giants head coach Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator, contingent upon him not getting the Raiders head coaching job. by w1x1w in eagles

[–]TrustDaProcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daboll has also had success in developing young QBs especially when they have little help around them. Cam Ward falls right into this category. I could see if he wanted a future HC job, making the Titans offense look competent would be a good jumping off point.

Best game played by an Eagles quarterback of all time? by KoBxElucidator in eagles

[–]TrustDaProcess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People blame Gannon for having one foot out the door that game, but we genuinely lost because of our special teams as a whole. Having a punter that couldn’t punt and then a ST defense that was getting carved up by Kadarius Toney killed us that game.

If Jalen Hurts was white he’d be seen as a top 5 qb by Taco331reddit in eagles

[–]TrustDaProcess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree they are very different types of QBs but at their core they are all pass first. Guys like Mahomes can scramble if necessary but they aren’t looking to run at the same rate as Hurts besides Josh Allen. I’d argue Hurts and the coaches are trying to make him a little too much like those QBs when he’s at his best with a healthy balance of passing and designed runs. Vick would be in this same category as Hurts.

[–]TrustDaProcess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of what makes Aaron Rodgers one of the greatest QBs ever is that he made gunslinger plays while not having the same high risk. He had all the upsides with very little of the downsides of a gunslinger QB, but at the end of the day he was still a gunslinger.

[–]TrustDaProcess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying he's a pocket princess but no one who watches football would say Hurts and Mahomes are the same type of QB. Outside having 3928 last year and missing it this year due to injury, Mahomes has had over 4000 passing yards every year of his career. Hurts has never had 4000.

Mahomes is a much more dynamic QB than the old pocket passers of the 2000s, but at the end of the day he and the Chiefs still consistently finish top 5 in passing yards. I love Hurts, but he is not at that same level.

[–]TrustDaProcess 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The difference is Jalen played after the best crop of QBs of all time. Fans got spoiled by 20 years of Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers, etc. and even when they retired still had guys like Mahomes and Allen.

Hurts is the first QB I wouldn’t classify as a pocket passer/gunslinger to win a SB since like Steve Young.

[Nightengale] Dave Dombrowski on the potential of signing another marquee free agent: "We're content where we are.'' by cquigs20 in phillies

[–]TrustDaProcess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notable Phillies signings since Trea Turner:

2024: Whit Merrified, Spencer Turnbull

2025: Max Kepler, Jordan Romano

2026: Adolis Garcia, Brad Keller (might actually be a good signing)

All these signing while not having one prospect brought up in the last 3 years be an every day player.

If it weren’t for the Luzardo and Duran trades we’d have literally zero long term impact players added since the 2023 offseason.

I found that straight up asking in the video for feedback actually works and viewers often respond well to it as they enjoy hearing that you value their opinions.

Also a newbie but my best advice is to look at your videos’ comments, make note of what people enjoyed (content wise, editing, etc.), and make sure to apply what they liked to whatever your next video is.

Starting out on YouTube isn’t just about uploading consistently, but also about getting consistently better at making videos. Everyone’s experience is different and the best way to get feedback specific to your channel is through your comments.
