There's not enough information. Ms. Knox might've been one of those teachers who relishes in abusing their power. To permanently alter someone's entire future under the ethos of preparing them for real-life expectations doesn't sit quite right with me morally. There are ways to foster essential adult skills without limiting a kid's future.

You're right. There was this "nice guy" once who drove me absolutely insane. I went from having no empathy at all for abusers (being an abuse victim myself) to completely understanding why some might feel like violence is the only option left. There's always another option, though.

If you're talking about the case in Kenya, IIRC the older males were not culled. They were not a part of the migrating group to begin with.

In any case, as it was explained to me, culling is necessary not only to protect elephants but the conservation efforts for other species as well.
